Tania Stacey had a successful background in sales management before entering the tea industry in 2013. Since then, she's built her knowledge working along side tea farmers, tea scientists and professionals in Taiwan, the USA and Australia.

She joined forces with Kym Cooper in 2017 to build a crafted RTD (Ready to Drink) tea industry with an innovative modern tea beverage startup focusing on cold brew nitro iced tea.

East Forged launched in 2020 and has been a successful participant in the Woolworths funded accelerator Seedlab Cultivate.

In this episode, Tania shares her journey to becoming a founder, the process of developing a co-founder relationship, and the challenges and the successes of the East Forged experience to date.

Dom Woolrych is the co-founder of Lawpath — Australia's number one online legal platform that has helped over 300,000 small businesses across Australia. Dom is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Technology and the Australian Legal Technology Association (ALTA) board member. In 2022, Dom became a finalist at SmallBiz Week Young Hero Awards in the Young Innovator category and was voted the top 20 University of Technology Alumni.

4. Emeka Edwin-Nweze - Neta Care

With a computer science degree and background, Emeka joined the Royal Australian Air Force with dreams of flight, but these were soon grounded, and he began to seek his true calling.

After a failed tech startup and a decision not to pursue commercial piloting, Emeka and his wife founded Neta Care, an NDIS registered allied health service provider, at the beginning of Covid, and have turned it from a single client to a service employing 100 people servicing hundreds of clients.

The story of the Neta Care journey is a story about resilience and the importance of being governed by clear values.

1. Jeremy Fleming - Stagekings / IsoKing

New from Swivol Media, Starting Line: The New Founders Podcast highlights stories from emerging and established founders and industry experts, and we start from the beginning.

In 2015, Jeremy and Tabitha Fleming founded Stagekings, combining Jeremy's extensive background in carpentry and construction for large events with Tabitha's years of experience in sales and marketing for music labels including EMI, Sony Music, and Universal Music. The business quickly took off, and within a very short time, Stagekings were creating and building some of the largest custom stages and event structures in the country.

The shutdown of the live events industry at the start of the Covid-19 pandemic brought all of this to a halt. Faced with standing down their staff and an uncertain financial future, Jeremy and Head of Production Mick Jessop put their minds to a solution, and in a matter of weeks, an entirely new business was born. IsoKing became one of the feel-good stories of the early months of the pandemic.

Jeremy joins us to share the experience, and as we listen we can learn much about resilience, risk-taking, and creating a culture of openness and creativity.
