This very troubled man became one of the most well known killers in the world; not least because of his gruesome technique and the manipulation of the bodies of his victims after death. Arrested at just 25 he spent the rest of his life int he same prison as Charles Manson; where he still resides today aged 71. His surrender, behaviour and demeanour after arrest led him to be a trustee and eventually help the FBI with their profiling work, as we saw in Mindhunter.

On this episode we talk about arguably the greatest wrestler to ever grace the ring and the most gruesome and tragic of endings for a celebrity at the peak of their career, Chris Benoit.

From battling in Mexico and Japan to the dizzying heights of the WWF, ECW and WWE, Chris Benoit was everything that makes up a champion. An indomitable spirit; a loyal friend and a determined competitor, but these traits were almost trade offs for the possibility of a normal life.

Injury, possible drug abuse and failing personal relationships and physiological decay all contributed to the awful end Chris Benoit and his family came to on that June weekend in 2007. Benoit died by suicide but not before killing his wife and child and leaving behind an industry in shock at the loss as well as the scandal.

With such a widely discussed topic; and the potential to upset the status quo on our world; the American government had to make a move towards controlling the flow and content of these news stories. So in 1947, under direction from PResident Harry S Truman Operation MJ12 was conceived.

The Majestic 12 were a top ranking team comprised of the premiere military and technological minds of the day; including top scientists, engineers, Army, navy and airforce top brass and even the soon to be first director of the CIA.

Very little is provided as conclusive proof that this clandestine organisation existed BUT UFOologists Bill Moore and Stan Freedman were the discoverers of documents that details the workings and members of this MJ12 and were even gilded with awards from the UFO society for these discoveries.

The inconclusive artefacts and documents pertaining to the existence of Majestic 12 may still come under heavy scrutiny from some; but when examined beside provable and demonstratable operations that were carried out by US military and intelligence communities it doesnt seem so far fetched. Now famous operation codenames like Project Bluebook, Project Sign, Project Mogul and others all point to a cover up of UFO technology and extra terrestrial existence

Some may even say that the whole thing is a government level hoax perpetrated on gullible imagineers who want to believe. The so called Mirage Men and other like them confess to deliberately spreading misinformation about UFOs, EBEs and other wordly technology in some sort of bid to lure in, and then discredit those who would seek the truth.

This show was supposed to be an interview with Vera Twomey, who has written a book called Ava about her daughter who has a form of epilepsy that has been relieved by a legal prescription to CBD oil. She is one of only 12 people in the country of Ireland to have it. 

Unfortunately Vera had to pull out at the last minute due to some internet trolls who went on a harassment campaign and Vera was forced to quit the show. Hopefully in the future we can have that chat, either on stage or in private, and you can get to hear her amazing story.

So this ended up being a one man show about censorship and similar current events. I talk about Greta, Extinction Rebellion, the term 'Nazi' and we talk about the effects a constant atmosphere of division and fear has on normal people.

Gary Jones joins me on this episode to chat about what makes Denis Rader tick and how he couldn't be caught for decades, despite his apparently forthcoming attitude to law enforcement and somewhat low intelligence.

There are rumours of Rader being the Zodiac Killer, due to the collections of numerous letters that he would often send to victims and law enforcement and, as is almost always the case, a strange history of peeping tomfoolery and molestations of small animals. He taunted the FBI and police when they couldn't catch him and this stirred up the public and made BTK think he was invincible; which would eventually be his own undoing.

This virus sprung up and took the world media by storm; in the midst of pandemic after scary pandemic like H1N1 and all the other types of flus; and it really rattled people. Folks were afraid to go tot he Olympics; they were encouraged to not have children; and many were born with terrible deformities.

This episode has been made 'Patreon Exclusive' and long removed from the public archives because of its particularly bad audio quality and the fact it wasn't on brand with a lot of the stuff we were doing at the time. It was a format I was experimenting with at the time which eventually evolved into what we now call LiveChats. Claire and I wanted to see more of the Third Reich history of Munich and went on a bunch of tours as well as doing our own snooping around and we ran into Kevin, who was from Ireland, and we got to chatting and ended up arranging this chat with him. I also filmed it so you can wait and watch the interview on video later if you like! 

We chat about early Hitler and his rise through the ranks for the National Socialist Party and how is enigmatic and tenacious personality got him to the top. We also talk about the ideologies of Nazis and why Munich was their cultural centre; and we discuss modern Munich and some of the attitudes Germans have for this type of conversation.

I had a great chat with Julian and Joe from The History of The Netherlands podcast about, well, the history of The Netherlands :D There was so much going on in Holland that I never understood or even knew about. Did you know weed isn't actually legal and it, along with many other illegal activities, go unimpeded by the police and government under a Dutch attitude of wilful ignorance called 'Gedoogbeleid' which is their policy of tolerance! Amazing stuff and very deep once we got into it! People who hate each other, being forced to work together for the greater good and doing it out of generational obligation and a culture of tolerance!

The lads do their own podcast and even have a little network of podcasts going called The Republic of Amsterdam Radio and their show are definitely worth a listen! They are pretty great when it comes to history and they love Holland and Dutch history is some of the murkiest there is! From Nazis destroying them to them destroying the Far East and a load of Africa; The Netherlands have a rich and bloody history that Julian and Joe jump well into!

1984 was the extension of this critique and the world that was created in this book was based on the tools and methods of totalitarian dictatorships that are now being echoed in the modern media landscape. The oppressive regime depicted in 1984 ring true today with social media deplatformings mimicking the actions of Winston Smith working for the Ministry of Truth and the Thought Police and blatant propaganda tactics shown in the actions of politically charged social media platforms.

I chat with Sam and XG about the man himself, Orwell's journey to writing 1984 and some of the more important warnings Orwell writes about that are showing themselves in the modern political discourse. DoubleThink, NewSpeak, and The Memory Hole are all terms often used when talking about cultural and political debate online these days; and Orwell saw it all happening in 1949!

We chat about how fucking cool Ving Rhames is and how this movie was so iconic it reinvigorated the zombie movie genre at the turn of the century when it was waining (this movie and 28 Days Later were released quite close together and deserve equal credit) It spawned loads of interest for zombies once again, from the shuffling creepers to sprinting screamers, DotD took a tired type of terror and pumped it full of zombait!   

It also spawned a bunch of video games like Dead Rising, Dead Island and, to some extent from the previous successes, the zombie level on Call of Duty which all made the undead genre feel very much alive again! We chat about all this and more (including the inconsistencies of the film of which there are many) and most of all have a laugh! It was great to chill and chat with him and I feel that since I started TCG, Ive come a long way from the time when I idolised Greg for giving up his job and pursuing podcasting in the conspiracy genre full time! I was amazed at his popularity and I met him in Dublin last year for chats about this! TCG has come a long way since then and we now consider each other as peers, which I am humbled and delighted by.

This lady is very interesting and started a campaign in Ireland a few years ago to get flouride out of our water system. Awareness of the fatigue and mental heaviness flouride causes is part of her new nutroitional campaign for general wellness and she is also going to be a speaker at the Open Mind Conference in March which I will be speaking at aswell!

I talk for about 90 mins at the start about the state of conspiracy and the head you have to have to do this shit in the first place! The audience dutifully joins in with questions and comments and there is an excellent banter level with everyone chipping in! Like a podcast with 80 people! :) 

After the break we then talk with Johnny about an apocalpyse scenario (practice for The Sugar Club gig) and there is mental banter! We discover so many of our fans are more than capable of surviving a nuclear apocalypse, most more than us!!

Im not using a mic for this one as the room was small and the camera that was recording was a tthe back of the room, so the sound may not be great! Ive touched it up in Audition but its as good as its gonna be! I was so worried about the content and executing the show with no hiccups that 'proper' recording of it was secondary. Now Ive got it under my belt Ill be able to concentrate on making a more professional product in the future! Its great craic anyhow if youre willing to wince through some low points!

American teen Amanda Knox was on a study/work abroad jaunt to Perugia in Italy and she was room mates with an English girl, Meridith Kircher. Kircher was killed brutally and Knox and her boyfriend were implicated in the murder. 

This is an amazing story and the court case and the people involved outside the crimescene are just as interesting as the murder itself! I have a show coming up on this soon with Claire, my lady love, and we have binged a bunch of Amanda Knox docs in preparation!

John Wayne Gacy was famous for his graveyard basement and his supposed respectability in society! This was unheard of in the US at the time and the shock of finding so many bodies killed over such a long period of time was chilling to the entire media consuming world! Similar to the Fritzl revelations, we all asked ourselves 'Do we know anyone like this?' In my house we call it the Oprah whisper, or see something say something!

Gacy was very effusive about his deeds and claimed insanity for his condition (which he was denied) and then he gave long interviews about his mindset and what drove him to murder. A really interesting case and we will be doing a big show about it soon.

This is a True Crime Story that I do on SpinFM twice per month and they are around 10-15 mins long. They are the broad strokes for a true crime episode that I will do in detail with another podcast guest in my studio and release as a 60-90 minute show as I have been doing over the last few months. 

So this guy David PArker Ray was a sick puppy and had a big container out in the desert where he used to bring girls for sick sexual experiments! Some real tooled up crazy shit! We just got back from Cork and our awesome first outing as TCG where we gave a bunch of wide-eyed philosophers our take on conspiracy theories. 

The crowd in UCC was lovely and numbered above 100, which was surprising, but we had great craic and they were more than willing to join in the banter. 

We recorded it as best we could and hopefully in future we can get some sort of a webcam thing going on so you can watch live or on YouTube from where you are. For now though, you can download the attached file and get 1.5 hours of the show (a 5 min piece on legalising drugs is missing because of equipment malfunction) and listen at your leisure!

Weird point, there was some 'interference' on the first half of the recording and we have NEVER had such intereference using that Zoom H2N before EVER! My phone was on the desk but it was on airplane mode but we still got the dut-dut-dut of the old Nokia 3210?! Weird eh?

Hope you enjoy it anyhow and we hope to do more of these as it was great craic. Maybe a more structured one where we take a few topics and roll them together, or maybe take conspiracy as a whole and discuss the philosophy; but something like that anyhow. We could even take it to Edinburgh next summer if we can scrape together enough spondoolicks. It does show proof of concept though and it was very well received once the crowd warmed up and realised what we were.

Thanks also to the Patreon folks that showed up from Cork and came up for pictures after! It was a real surprise and we were delighted; it was like prom photos. Im not gonna name ye all because Ill forget someone but you know who you are. Hopefully we can do some of these in America too when we are traversing the states making our TV show maybe? Just throwing it out there!

My head is melted from doing all these essays for college, so I decided to distract myself for a few moments and edit up the out-takes from out Hitler and The Occult episode! They are quite funny and you get some nice insight into the behind the scenes tea breaks and bullshit chat that goes on in the old kitchen studio!

I do have 2 1 hour lovely almost extra episodes from the Ghosts recording session all about trans-gender equality with Eamon and Neil and another hour from the Marilyn Monroe episode all about consent and the liberal attitude to sexual assault! Im deciding on which shows we are going to go with and I want to tell you guys about some plans for the 5th Season of the show. I will do all this in a video in about a week so you guys will get it only on Patreon! Suffice to say there will be more regular live conspiracy shows with me, Google Hangouts with Paul and I, some more videos, a True Crime 60 minute show, and more of your favourite huge long fuck off podcasts! 14 more every two weeks for the whole Season!

I have been uploading a taste of some of the True crime topics we will be covering and we have done a live show or two on YouTube in the last couple of months (Jon Benet Ramsey etc) but I have to get a handle on how this will be done in a sustainable way. Included here is a clip of us on SpinFM talking about the Johnny Gosch abduction and I threw a #Pizzagate in there to see what would happen!

We wanted to make a change for Season 3 and we are going to add this on to all the old episodes too. Everything is getting a remix for the new Season so we can match quality for the new mics as best we can, and so that the new listeners wont be asking "Why did they record in a tin shack for the first year?"

Also we are about to change over to a new hosting service for the podcast and we want all of the episodes remixed before we change over. We have been working hard on remixing all the old episodes to make them sound better to your willing ears, as well as a tidy remix of the intro; you know how TV shows condense the intro as the seasons go on, so you don't have to sing the entirety of 'I'll Be There For You' everytime you watch and episode. 

We are doing this so if you decide to go back and relive some of the joy from the first time around while waiting for Season 3, but also for our new listeners so they can feel the creamy edited goodness for the first time. It will also match the awesome quality Season 3 is going to bring us, with our shiny new mics and recording equipment, and not make the old episode sound shit in comparison. You live and learn eh?
