I cannot say how much I wish you the best in this constant fight against yourself.

Because of our different traumas we sometimes can express trusting issues. But it is quite complicated when it occurs to happen in a new thing that could be a beautiful relationship, only if we understand how it is important to acknowledge that we are struggling and that we don't want to let our fear to control us and potentially ruin a future relationship.

If you are under control well good for you continue to be aware of this habit because it can always turn to a real addiction so a few breaks from times to times ( stopping for a few months) could only be good for your health.

Anyway in general just be careful about the quantity of alcohol you drink on a weekly, monthly basis. Take care :)
