Journey Into The Prison Plane

Tonight we are running the third part of a prewritten module called Dream of Red Wizards: A Moment of Peace. The quest began in Maelstrom, the underwater capital of the Storm Giants. The Wyrmskull throne had been stolen and cloned by the Cult of the Dragon. By finding a cloned version of the throne, the characters would be able to triangulate the location of the real throne. Princess Serrisa, the one in charge of Maelstrom, had her wizards teleport the characters to Wyvernfang, a dangerous dungeon temple in the mountains. The Cleanup Crew was able to find the copy of the throne and it led them to a tower in the Plains of Purple Dust. They fought giant worms in the Plains and then did some shenanigans to get into the tower.

This led them to the dracolich Iymrith’s throne room, which was filed with anti magic trickery. The team barely survived but they found the real throne. To their horror, they discovered that the throne had been converted to Iymrith’s phylactory, which meant that she would return to life in a fortnight. Serrisa contacted them and said that they would need to get help from the doomguides of Kelemvor in the Tower of Skulls and they were teleported there. Kroupant, the leader of the doomguides, told them they need to travel to Ellaniath, a city in a prison plane and there, they could get the soultheft spell, which they could use to remove Iymrith’s soul from the throne. He teleports them to the prison plane. And that’s where we pick up our story.

The party finds itself in stark desert world of the prison plane. You’ve been walking along various trails, hoping to find clues to a road that will lead you to Ellaniath. Weth, the intrepid Goliath ranger, finds a well used path and leads the group in what he believes is the right direction.

As you walk, several cloaked beings begin to rise up along sides of the path. They are chained to the ground and as you look into the cloaks, you can see that they are drow. One of the figures points at Weth and whispers, “Hello traveler! Who are you? And why are you here?”
