My utility bill jumped, it doubled. My friends out of California, using the same amount of energy, their utility bill jumped from $250 to $613. A lot has to do with the less amount of natural gas that was in production and could be used that drove the price up, the remaining big part of the Natural Gas Tax imposed by the Inflation Reduction Act of Joe Biden and the Congress. What do we call that? A big fat political lie.

The debt limit caps the total amount of allowable outstanding U.S. federal debt. The U.S. hit that limit—$31.4 trillion—on January 19, 2023, but the Department of the Treasury has been undertaking a set of “extraordinary measures” so that the debt limit does not yet bind. The 

Treasury estimates that those measures will be sufficient at least through early June. Sometime after that, unless Congress raises or suspends the debt limit before June, the federal government will lack the cash to pay all its obligations. Those obligations are the result of laws previously enacted by Congress. “Raising the debt limit is not about new spending; it is about paying for previous choices policymakers legislated.”

I AM PLANNING A BUCKET LIST TRIP TO ALASKA, MAKING FRIENDS ALONG THE WAY

In April I am going to do a bucket list trip from South Carolina to Alaska. I am trying to decide if I should go by train to Seattle and catch the ferry, or drive across America to Seattle and put my vehicle on the Ferry to Alaska. I would like to do the latter. However, I am going to have to get a new vehicle to do that with. I have thought about getting a small traveling van to drive in, but have you priced the costs of these vans and how many miles on one them?

Biden keeps lying about the nations economy and it has got to stop. He needs to hire better economic advisors, he needs to listen to the American people, and he needs to focus on the economy and not on a political agenda. The American people are hurting and his lies do greater harm. His financial views are now seen as garbage.

If the President really wants to help the American people he should be sitting down with members of Congress and the Senate and begin negotiating on the debt ceiling and spending cuts. That would show the American people that he is doing something. But, there has to be results, not political spin. If he does nothing, then the American people can expect that the next two years will be financial hard.

UNETHICAL ACTIONS FROM BIDEN ON DOWN, CREATES A NATION IN CHAOS

We are seeing the unethical act of wokeness that is driving unethical actions in businesses, churches and schools. This has got to end. Politics is never ethical. Political agenda's through wokeness is never ethical. We need to start teaching more about ethics, and board of directors have got to examine their ethics rules within their organizations. Politics should not be allowed one inch within organizations. Their decisions on how they are going to run their business or cancel out others though social wokeness, must end. It should no longer be tolerated. The more woke the entity, the more unethical behavior.

Ethics is the ability to make decision on what is right or wrong in our human conduct. This is the belief that moral principles is vital in our every day lives. Businesses must start focusing on their ethics and eliminate politics, wokeness, from their operations. Conflict, from unethical actions, is very expensive and can destroy companies from within. I encourage all leaders to review their policies on ethics in the workplace.

And government, you had better start holding those accountable that do not practice good ethical behavior.

JOE BIDEN NEEDS TO SIT DOWN AT THE DEBT AND SPENDING NEGOTIATION TABLES - TODAY

Total Debt: $31.4 Trillion

Annual interest paid on debt: -#1.2 trillion by 2024

Annual tax revenue: $4.9 trillion

Annual Deficit: $1.4 trillion loss

Projected 2023 Deficit: over $2 trillion

Janet Yellen taps retirement funds to avoid breaching US debt limit. Does any of this sound like sound spending habits, good stewards of the money Americans have paid into the tax system? If this were a company, would you invest in it? Hell no.

The ethical work that the Joe Biden can do is to sit down with Treasury and the members of Congress and negotiate. If you don't negotiate then we have no leadership in Washington. We just have elected people who think that it is ok to put the American people in greater debt. Perhaps it is time to shut the government down to get people to the negotiating table. This is no longer about politics, this is about working together to reduce our nations debt and curb spending. Otherwise, you can expect the economy of America to get even worse. Do what's ethical, and not what is political.

Wokeness and Cancel culture is the modern social attitude that what you think is controversial speech or behavior must be punished through public shaming, silencing, boycotting, firing, bankrupting, de-platforming, etc. The result is that the offender's influence, presence, and/or reputation is "cancelled out." Cancel culture goes far beyond that, setting out new rules to retaliate against speech, behavior, or even thought that has been prejudged as "offensive" or even simply controversial. In cancel culture, people can be ostracized, their reputations smeared, and their careers ruined although they have broken no laws or engaged in any malicious behavior.

Cancel culture views people with whom a plurality of people disagree as unredeemable and worthy of spite. Christian culture see no one as an object of spite. God's love is always available. There are no lost causes. If you are running a business, church or school, and you allow wokeness and cancel culture in your organization, you will destroy lives and the ability to care about your fellow human beings. Cut out the cancel culture and get back to your work and responsibilities.

Democracy Provides Us With The Ability To Vote And Change Our Government

I was talking to a client in Los Angeles yesterday. He was frustrated with the city and politicians. The city in infested with rats, more rats then people. Homeless people are camped in front of his new store. Police will not help him because politicians at city hall have told them to stand down. In a video below, you will see a homeless man, laying on the ground in front of a coffee shop masturbating. In New York City subway system, homeless are pooping in the station. Again, we see that government is the problem and they refuse to provide help to the citizens. They ignore their calls. Lucky for us. We have the ability to change government through our vote. Use your vote to change this nation so we get back on track. Democrats have gotten us off tract and have destroyed us with inflation, over spending and taxes, ignoring crime. This can be changed with our vote. We have to clean up government and hold them accountable.

2023 is only two months away, so it is vital for you to get ready to face the music for the near year. So two assignments for you. 1) call your tax advisor and sit down and talk about any changes or needs to file your 2022 tax return. Don't wait until 2023 to do it, do it now so it counts for 2022. 2) prepare your 2023 budget, for your business or personal finance side. You need to focus on money coming in, money going out, and what is left over and what you plans are for 2023. Again, I am going to use the word "vital", because it is so important for you to do this. Everything That Is Free From The Government Is A Tax

Every time the government gives out something they call free - it turns out to be a tax. When inflation goes up, so do the taxes you pay on that item. When that apple gets transported down to you at the store, taxes are paid through the gasoline used, transportation, sales and use tax. A Democratic Senator in Washington now wants to propose raising the gasoline tax - during a recession. How stupid can politicians be to actually suggest raising taxes on Americans when they can't even afford the food at the store. November voting is coming in a few more days, make sure you know who you are voting for. What has been their spending and tax voting history. If they have voted for spending - they should not be in that office. And that goes for both Democrats and Republicans.

We Need To Create Bucket Lists And The Do Them

For too long we have been suck. Pandemic shut us up in our houses. The economy has created a stress on all of us and we are not going anywhere. Not doing anything. We need to take back control and create our own personal bucket lists of items to do and places to see. We can't let this feckless government stop us any longer. Over the weekend, sit down and pull out a sheet of paper and at the top put the title "Bucket List". Or if you keep a journal, put it in there. Start creating your bucket list for the remainder of 2022 and for 2023. We need to change our mental health outlook.

Life is short and you have to have bucket lists. There is a vloger on YouTube that has inspired me to live before the grim reaper takes my bucket. Train trips have always been on my list of things to do, so I have planned two train trips. One is from South Carolina to Los Angeles, a 3 day trip. I leave November 18th and across America I go. The next train trip is from South Carolina to Seattle, on a ferry to Alaska that takes 5 days, then by train to the end of the train tracks in Alaska.

Earnings reports are coming out this next week and the most important topic to listen for is what are they forecasting. Not what they are currently earning, but what they are seeing in the future for their business and the economy. This will tell you what is going to happen. Right now we have capital expenditures declining to almost nothing. We see that employee hours are being cut. The next part will be the layoffs of those working at home and then finally to all employees. Companies have got to make some tough decisions, so it is good to be prepared for it. What they see will affect what we do at home. How we will manage our own personal financial lives.

Learning To Deal With Tempers And Being Focused On The Issues To Be Resolved

There is a saying that I tell everyone that comes before me for mediation, and it is about their tempers and anger. Lose your temper nd you lose the fight. Learn to control your tempers because a big part of it is ego. You have to be right, but you realize your wrong and instead of ending the argument peacefully, ego takes over and you lose your temper. I had that happen to me recently with a friend who did not want to lose the argument, he lost his temper and hung up on me. I just remained silent because I knew it wasn't a big enough argument to lose my temper. My approach is to give that individual time, cool down, think about it, and see how he approaches the friendship after the hang up. We probably would call this a test of friendship. In mediation I try to get parties prior to mediation to sit down with me and let them unload their stories on me, and then we get to talk about what they would like out of the mediation. Usually, it is exactly what the other side wants, it's just they are saying it differently. Learn to control your temper and you can resolve a lot.

Right now we are listening to really bad communications from Biden and Harris. What they are saying is creating doubt in the leadership at the top. Harris does not think before she talks and she reacts instead of thinks about her answers and statements. It sounds like she is making it up as she goes along. Really bad leadership communication.

Then we have Biden lashing out at the courts decision on DACA. Democrats have been using this group of people politically for so long, making promises, but never keeping them. DACA is a political pawn by the Democrats. They have been in control of the Congress and Whitehouse many times and each time talked about DACA but have never done anything about it. Where Are The Peacemakers? Where Is The Voice For Peace In The Ukraine/Russia War?

We have politicians that are not talking about the real economy that Americans are facing. Cars are being repossessed, houses have been foreclosed on and the number goes up everyday, real estate is in a recession. Yet, politicians push their political agenda's of abortion, electric cars, job numbers with a twist, and climate change, at the same time Americans are suffering. They refuse to cut government spending and tax hikes, instead they go in the opposite direction and spend more money and tax more. Political agenda's have become more important then the welfare of the American people and the economy. It's a sick thought process, but yet they do it.

This past week I had a party come to me for mediation that had purchased a business from an individual and there were outstanding issues. Both agreed to mediate, however the seller of the business wanted me to give an opinion on the contract and stated he was right. Mediators don't give opinions, which I explained to him twice. He said he would not go forward unless I gave him an opinion. I said no, not my role as a Mediator. If you go into the mediation with an attitude, you probably won't get very far. Go to a mediation and listen, ask questions, work on resolving the dispute. Leave the attitude at the door.

Americans Are Suffering Financially, Biden Denies There Is A Problem

Biden denies there is inflation and an economic problem, but around the nation we are seeing massive amounts of houses that are in pre-foreclosure, 3 months of not paying their mortgage because the cost of everything has gone up. Here are a few examples.

Northridge, CA - 78 homes, Beverly Hills - 53, Las Vegas - 3,958, Miami - 591, Sherman Oaks, CA - 104, and these numbers go up daily. We are in a real estate recession that is going to get worse. We then have to ask are the banks liquid. In August the mounts of deposits into banks was negative. It is important to understand if your bank is strong or may be in trouble. We are in a recession and have to ask the right questions, not go by what Biden and the Whitehouse says. They are wrong.

America Is Un-United Due To NO Leadership To Unite

Joe Biden stated in the last two days that if the Republicans take the Congress he was going to be using his veto pen a lot. A threat to stop the process of the Congress. Threats is not leadership. A good leader would sit down with the opposition and listen and ask questions. A threat stops the leadership process. Businesses leaders who are really good at what they do listen. Ask questions. Make decision based on these conversations and what is good for the company and their clients. If a leader is not engaged with those that think differently then he, listening, asking questions, no unity will take place. No positive moves on issues that need to be resolved. No negotiations that need to have an agreement to. No unity can happen if the leader is not engaged. We have no engaged leaders.

Queen Elizabeth was a great leader. As soon as you me her she was engaged with you. She asked questions, listened, and gave her wisdom on the issue. We have lost that ability to lead in the United States. We get farther and farther apart because political agenda's have take the place of leadership and the care for the American people. We have problems in the United States, we need leaders.

We need to get back to our core businesses, bring employees back to the office, so there is more relationship building in business. People have forgotten to get up, get dressed for business, think business, and to build those important relationships in business. In government there is no more leadership, it has become a political agenda where politicians just follow the agenda. Twitter has become a beehive of political hate. Everyone in politics and their minions are there spinning their hate. It is non-stop hate. And it is from the left and the right. You are truly wasting your time there if you think you are going to learn something new, you will not. Instead you will get so pissed off that you will join in and become part of the hate crowd. I had a big fall on Memorial day, it will be memorable. As I was falling in slow motion, my head hit the office door, and then laid in a heap of hurt and embarrassment, I thought about life. I am old and I live alone, so when I fell I was thinking of so many things. One of them was life is too short to get angry about politics and the ugly names we are being called, or maybe calling other people. This has got to stop. I decided to get up off the floor and change my outlook and start focusing on my bucket lists that I want to accomplish.

It's A Mumbo Jumbo Podcast Today

It's the day after labor day, and as I was going through twitter yesterday, every politician was out there making statements, praising labor, and yet really saying nothing but political nonsense. Then there were attorneys out there commenting on the judges decision on the Trump case, I call them back seat attorneys. Some were for Trump, against Trump, and they all had their opinions but they have not seen any documents, (except 2) and some leaked stuff, but they had all the answers to the case. Some put the judge down, said she didn't have the legal expertise, and it went on. As I went through the feeds from twitter, I had to turn it off because it was just too much crap. Sorry, but that is what it was. And I have said this before, I am politically fatigued and I think most Americans are. Everyone is spinning their own story line or hate. America has a lot of problems at the moment and we have politicians spreading more division and hate, so that nothing can really get done as a nation. I have said this before, we can't rely on Government to solve anything. It's up to us, you and me, to focus on our family and community needs. Government just screws it up.

Politicians And Their Name Calling Of Americans Is Creating Chaos

When you lead, and made the promise to unite a nation, but then call American's names, he goes in the opposite direction of unity to political divide. We are voting in November for people to serve our nation, not for people with hate towards America. The more they yell their spins at America the more we pull away. Why would we want to be associated with hat? We are in the middle of a recession that is going to get worse starting in September with a natural gas shortage, a food shortage, and other issues that affect our families and businesses. Hate does nothing to help us. We as Americans have to defend our families financial situations because politicians are going to make it worse with their political agenda's and hate. We are on our own people. So let's remove the hateful politicians and focus on our personal financial lives. Put us first. Most of us already know how we will vote in November, so get on with our lives and focus on our families and communities. Kick hate off your road, replace it with commonsense and the ability to survive. We have already been warned that it is going to get worse, hate will never help but our individual focus will to great things.

Calling people fascists' has nothing to do with building a strong democracy or a strong nation. These kinds of words about Americans degrades the political power of these types of politicians. We have hateful politicians that is creating the country to stumble and fall. Henry Cabot Lodge said, "Beware how you trifle with your marvelous inheritance, this great land of ordered liberty, for if we stumble and fall, freedom and civilization everywhere will go down in ruin". The hate filled speech by Biden and other politicians, trying to take down other Presidents, getting involved in Ukraine, tax and spend, is not building America, it is tearing us down as a nation. We have allowed politicians, filled with hate, trifle with our liberties, freedoms and prosperity of every American.

If You Are A Conservative Podcaster, You Are Considered A Threat

It appears that social media search engines have decided that certain subjects and podcasts are a threat. This week a organization for podcaster put out a email to everyone at one of their expos that Ben Shapiro showed up and may have created harm. The tweet read, "Hi folds, we owe you an apology before sessions kick off for the day. Yesterday afternoon, Ben Shapiro briefly visited the PM22 expo area near The Daily Wire booth. Though he was not registered or expected, we take full responsibility for the harm done by his presence." This appears to be a woke organization. Conservative podcasters are now seen as "harm" to the organization. Search engines have now been seen as a threat. I have seen this even against my podcast. Twitter doesn't allow me to grow my followers. In fact my podcasts and comments are not seen by many because my voice is not in their political territory. It will not stop me, I use my podcast as a teaching tool, I make no money off this podcast, my only hope is that someone will listen and learn. Maybe one day, I may get more then 20 listeners.

So she lost he seat and her reputation. This obsession is a mental health crisis. We have a crisis in Government, and November we need to make a change. Get back on track - if we can.

The Inflation Reduction Bill That Increases Inflation - Stupid Politicians!

Fox Business - The Inflation Reduction Act — unveiled Wednesday by Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., and endorsed by Biden — would increase tax revenue by $16.7 billion from Americans earning less than $200,000 a year, according to a nonpartisan analysis from the Joint Committee on Taxation (JCT) published Friday. Sen. Joe Manchin Votes To Raise Inflation, Just Another Politician

If you listen to Joe Manchin on all the news shows this weekend, he tried to explain why he is voting for an inflation bill that creates more inflation. He failed at his explanation and tripped up by saying there are no new taxes and then said that the bill raises taxes on corporations by 15%.. Higher taxes always gets passed on to you and me - the consumer. Then there is spending in this bill and government spending creates inflation. However, remember, Joe voted for that big stimulus bill that created inflation. So really, Joe is not for the people of his state, or for the American people, instead he is showing that he is just a politician that votes with his party and for votes when it is convenient for him. So expect inflation to get worse, government spending to get out of control, and politicians created the worse economy ever. This inflation bill is a lie and does more harm to this nation. With weak tax and spend politicians with no experience out in the real world - we are in trouble.

A highly watched economic indicator with a good track record in predicting recessions cut its forecast for second-quarter gross deomestic product growth this week, implying the nation has fallen into a recession, per Forbes magazine..

The first thing that happens during a recession is the economy slows down. This means that businesses are producing less, and consumer spending is down. At this time consumer spending is down and at the same time their credit card limits are maxed out. Businesses have inventory but the consumer is not buying. This can lead to layoffs, as businesses try to cut costs. We are seeing that at the moment, businesses are starting to lay off, cutting back on hiring. Putting freezes on hiring. During this time, there's a significant decline in the demand for goods and services. We are in a recession because this has been going on for months.

My conclusion is that news is no longer news, it is just tabloid mind washing nonsense and far too many of us are falling for every word. Media on the left and right are biased and have corrupted the information and data that is out there. They bend it to their own political agenda. They don't even follow their own code of ethics in reporting. Their code of ethics for journalists has been tossed out on the freeway and been hit by every car and truck until you can't even recognize any truth in any story. Journalism has been corrupted by politics. Business has been corrupted by politics. Politics is an unethical entity that kills off truth. So you and I have to make our own decisions and fight for our lives in this country, or any country that you are listening to me from. It is up to us to get to the truth.

The Daily Signal: With inflation surging to 9.1% and averaging much higher in the rural heartland than in urban areas, now is not the time for the federal government to pour gasoline on the fire.

Yet, as Democrats negotiate the newest iteration of their socialist nightmare—the so-called Build Back Better Act—that is exactly what they are planning to do. This plan would increase inflationary pressures with shortage-inducing price controls on prescription drugs and an increase in spending for Obamacare subsidies.

If this sounds like the approach of the 1970s, it is—rapidly expanding federal spending and the money supply, and ultimately triggering double-digit inflation. Then, too, rather than rein in spending, Washington resorted to price controls.

The newest version of the euphemistically named Build Back Better follows this failed playbook.

The housing cycle—which began its upward climb in 2011—has officially turned over. Simply put: We've moved into a housing recession.

On Tuesday, we learned that homebuilders broke ground on 982,000 single-family homes in June. That's down 19% since February, and down 16% from the same month in 2021. While it's hardly a "blow out," it's clear builders are cutting back. Historically speaking, that's exactly what happens when a housing cycle turns over: FORTUNE: As existing home inventory—which builders compete against—begins to spike, homebuilders start to cut back.

"Peak euphoria is behind us. We are giving back some of the euphoria [home] pricing that was rolling over every housing market," says Rick Palacios Jr., head of research at John Burns Real Estate Consulting.

Existing home inventory will continue to rise, and homebuilding will continue to slow. At least that's the view at John Burns Real Estate Consulting, which does consulting work for both builders and investors. As it does, the ongoing housing recession (i.e. a contracting housing market) could push home prices lower in bubbly regional housing markets. Indeed, many bubbly markets, Palacios says, are barreling towards price cuts in both 2023 and 2024. That includes markets like Phoenix, Nashville, West Palm Beach, Las Vegas, and Austin. In Boise, Palacios says home prices could go negative on a year-over-year basis as soon as December.

"Builders are already [deciding] to not pour slabs in certain markets. Which is the technical trigger for a start for a home. In certain markets it will feel like [a housing bust]," Palacios says. (read full article)

Saudi Arabia, the world’s largest oil exporter, more than doubled the amount of Russian fuel oil it imported in the second quarter to feed power stations to meet summer cooling demand and free up the kingdom’s own crude for export, data showed and traders said.

Russia has been selling fuel at discounted prices after international sanctions over its invasion of Ukraine left it with fewer buyers. Moscow calls the war in Ukraine a “special military operation”.

The increased sales of fuel oil, used in power generation, to Saudi Arabia show the challenge that US President Joe Biden faces as his administration seeks to isolate Russia and cut its energy export revenues.

While many countries have banned or discouraged purchases from Russia, China, India and several African and Middle Eastern nations have increased imports.

This discounted oil will be sold and exported to the United States if Biden gets an oil deal with Saudi. Biden refuses to sit down and meet with American oil producers and continues to degrade them. Biden has the worse energy policy that continues to drive up inflation on the American people.

Consumer Inflation Gros: The Labor Department said Thursday that its producer price index, which measures inflation at the wholesale level before it reaches consumers, climbed 11.3% in June from the previous year. On a monthly basis, prices grew by 1.1%. Both of those figures are higher than the 10.7% annual and 0.5% monthly estimates from Refinitiv economists, underscoring just how strong inflationary pressures still are.

We Are In A Recession And We Have To Act Like It!

WE ARE IN A RECESSION - LET'S ACT LIKE IT!

In a recent Forbes article they told the truth, we are in a recession. They write, The media, including some in the economics profession, have concluded that the “economy is strong” and there won’t be a Recession, all based on a single number from Friday’s Payroll Survey. June’s headline number came in at +372K, above the consensus +265K. Based on this number alone, markets concluded that the Fed will raise 75 basis points (bps) at their July meeting. The last point may, indeed, be true, given that this Fed reacts to lagging indicators instead of the leading ones.

Other indicators also point to weakening employment:

In the ISM June Manufacturing Survey, the employment sub-index was 47.3, in contractionary territory for the second month in a row (50 is the demarcation between expansion and contraction), and the ISM Services Survey also showed falling employment (47.4).
Challenger’s June report showed rising layoff announcements, up 57% M/M and 59% Y/Y. Hiring announcements fell -18% M/M, negative in three of the last four months and -6.5% Y/Y.
The latest JOLTS report (BLS’ Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey) corroborates the Challenger report. Job openings fell -427K in June and layoffs rose +77K.
Initial Jobless Claims, too, have risen, now up +62K from their early April lows. From an historical perspective, a rise of +60K has often coincided with the start of a Recession. Continuing Claims (those on unemployment for more than one week) rose to +1.375 million in the latest report (through the week ended July 1) up from +1.305 million less than a month ago.

Your Paying $1,000 a month on a car?

Axios: Four-digit monthly car payments are becoming increasingly common as new-vehicle prices and interest rates spike.

Driving the news: 12.7% of buyers who financed their new vehicles in June agreed to monthly payments of at least $1,000, the highest level ever, car research site Edmunds reported Thursday.

That's up from 7.3% in June 2021 and 4.6% in June 2019.
36.1% of borrowers opted for loans of 73–84 months, up from 32.8% in June 2021.

The big picture: Supply chain issues and other inflationary pressures have made new and used cars, pickups and SUVs more expensive than ever.

New-vehicle prices are averaging more than $47,000.

By the numbers: The average new-car borrower agreed to a monthly payment of $672 in the second quarter on an average loan length of 70.3 months with a 5% interest rate, according to Edmunds.

The average borrower put $40,602 on their tab.

If you are paying more then $400, you are crazy. But $1,000 plus a month, you have lost it.

Crypto and Bitcoin Fraud Coming To A Federal Court House Near You

The Commodity Futures Tradding Commission filed a lawsuit today against Cornelius Johannes Steynberg and Mirror Trading International Proprietary Limited (MTI), charging them with fraud and registration violations. The complaint accuses Steynberg of engaging in an international fraudulent multilevel marketing (MLM) scheme that brought in 29,421 BTC, worth over $1.7 billion. No Industry Is Safe From The Scammers

Yes, they tried to scam me with a fake mediation. I had a Korean women contact me telling me that her and her husband had received a divorce in Korea, they are both now in the United States. The settlement was for $800K and the husband had only received half. Could I help her by mediating the remaining portion of the settlement agreement. So we had an agreement to mediate, I contacted the husband and he wanted to mediate. I was able to get an agreement on the terms for the final payment of the settlement, they both signed a Memorandum of Understanding with clear methods and payments and dates. The husband insisted that they money be sent to me. I said no, I am not acting as an attorney, the money needs to go directly to your former wife. He responded, but she has no means to accept payment, so it has to go through you. I told him that would not happen. The due date for the first payment has come and gone, and both wife and husband has stopped communicating with me. What they were trying to do is get information about my bank account and were running a scam. I have now learned that you have to screen clients that come in for mediation. Even mediators have scammers after them.

Ernst & Young Admits Their Employees Cheated on Ethics Exams

Ernst & Young, one of the top accounting firms in the world, is being fined $100 million by federal regulators after admitting its employees cheated on their ethics exams. For years, the firm's auditors had cheated to pass key exams that are needed for certified public accountant licenses, the Securities and Exchange Commission found. Earnst & Young also had internal reports about the cheating but didn't disclose the wrongdoing to regulators during the investigation. "It's simply outrageous that the very professionals responsible for catching cheating by clients cheated on ethics exams of all things." Gurbir S. Grawal, director of the SEC's Enforcement Division, said in a release.

If Businesses Allow Political Wokeness In Their Companies, They Will Create Conflict

As a mediator that gets involved in workplace disputes, I am very familiar with the fact that politics is not an ethical entity and that it creates conflicts within companies who do not have the same belief as their company executives. In fact I ran a survey several months ago asking the question on how many employees were exposed to politics in the workplace. 65% said they ad. Abortion is a very touchy subject and will create even great conflicts, not just with employees but with the shareholders and customers. Wokeness offends people who have a different belief. CEO's become irresponsible when they mix business with politics. Abortion is one of the most heated debates in the nation, creating conflict on the streets, at pro-life clinics, churches and discrimination against people who believe in life. Conflict costs businesses great amounts of money every year because of workplace conflicts.

It is important there needs to be places where people can go and do their job without having politics being part of it. It is unfair to the employee because if he believes differently he will be attacked inside the office. The other issue is that by paying for travel to abortions means that other employees will be paying for something that could have been paid out in bonuses and higher wages. Even the stockholders now are paying for abortions to happen. This is not the role of the business to support abortions.

Wokeness never works and people get tired of always having to be in the presence of politics. Politics is not an ethical entity, it creates disputes, conflicts, and even violence. Leave the abortion wokeness out of business before you do too much damage to your workforce and brand.

41% of small businesses said they are experiencing a large increase in prices over the past six months. And about 79% were experiencing at least a moderate increase. But some locations were experiencing these hikes at an even greater rate. Supply Chain is still the dynamic issue creating these costs to go up and passed onto the consumer.

The Supreme Court Did Not End Abortion

Today's decision from the Supreme Court on Roe v. Wade did not end abortion. What it did is put that decision to abort in the hands of the states, all 50 of them. That is how it was before a liberal court stepped in on Roe v. Wade and made it a Federal issue. It was always, per the constitution, the responsibility of each individual state to decide how they would handle the issue of abortion. It was never the federal government role to decide for the states. So abortion did not end, it just got sent back to the states to decide on abortion issues.

Now, if you are advocating violence, like AOC and Maxine Waters is doing on the steps of the Court, they are wrong and you are wrong. Violence will never give your views the message or right, it points in the wrong direction. If you are upset because you think you can't kill babies so it is ok to go out and kill other people on abortion, then you are wrong. Evil leads to more evil. Think before you speak. Think before you act. The consitution is very clear on the role of the federal government not over reaching on State rights. And that is what this decision did. It is not up to each individual state to make the decision on abortions in their own state, and it is your voice that will lead in whatever direction you believe in. That is America.

I condemn President Biden and all the other politicians that today set off anger with their words. America is not a place where you divide a nation. And with the words of a President we see no unity of a nation.

The Gas Tax Holiday Biden Gimmick

Not much in the tank? President Biden this week called on Congress to pass a 3-month suspension of the federal gasoline tax. With lawmakers and economists alike balking at the gas tax gimmick, it isn't likely to pass. But it's still worth considering whether the proposed gas tax holiday is sound tax policy.

Don't overinflate the tires. Rising gas prices are certainly one piece of the inflation puzzle - but suspending the federal gas tax is a uniquely ill-suited policy for addressing rising prices. If policymakers are looking to change the tax code to help fight inflation, they should pump the brakes on a gas tax holiday and instead consider structural reforms at the federal and state levels.

Real Estate, Google, and Trucking

There is a shift happening in the housing market. After more than a year of of soaring demand, exploding home prices and increasing real estate sales, the market finally seems to be cooling off. The five signs are:

The inventory of homes for sale is growing
More price cuts
Real estate companies are laying people off
mortgage applications are down

Google says it's time for longtime small-business users to pay up. So if you are using their colander or email, or other free products they offer, it is now going to start costing small businesses.

Canada announced yesterday that if you want to haul goods you may have to get a new truck to meet emissions demands by government. We have the same issue here in the United States, they have adopted the same rules in some states (California). Some truckers have left the trucking industry because of these new demands and the government is so stupid to do this when both countries have a supply chain issue and inflation. This creates a supply chain attack on the higher costs to consumers. Government doing stupid things again.

Home Prices Drop

Home prices are starting to drop and it is picking up speed, per Redfin. On a rolling 40week basis, share of listed homes for sale with cuts to teir price is currently higher than any time since at least 2015. If you think you need to buy a home right now with inflation and inflated real estate prices, think again. You really don't need to purchase a home now with inflation and everything going up, and real estate starting to drop. Think about it.

Personal Finance and Business Education In Highschool

When I was young I went to a one room school in Seattle Washington. We have 15 kids, grades 1 - 5, one teacher, and one room. But, we had a teacher that contacted a bank and they came into the school, we were able to set up a bank account and were taught about money. I was able to save money and learned the importance of managing my money and saving. To this date I have no debt because of early school education and a smart teacher. Every highschool should have a personal finance and business education program for their students. It could even be taught by volunteers in the business community. It wouldn't cost the school districts a penny. It is important for kids to learn how to make good money decision, maybe it would keep them out of student debt by the time they get to college. There are options available besides debt. Schools need to help their students learn bout the real world of personal finance from professionals that deal with it daily. The Federal Reserve and Real Estate

Here's what Powell had to say: "We saw [home] prices moving up very very strongly for the last couple of years. So that changes now. And rates have moved up. We are well aware that mortgage rates have moved up a lot. And you are seeing a changing housing market. We are watching it to see what will happen. How much will it really affect residential investment? Not really sure. How much will it affect housing prices? Not really sure. Obviously, we are watching that quite carefully…It’s a very tight market. So prices might keep going up for a while, even in a world where rates are up. So it’s a complicated situation and we watch it very carefully. I'd say if you are a homebuyer, somebody or a young person looking to buy a home, you need a bit of a reset. We need to get back to a place where supply and demand are back together and where inflation is down low again, and mortgage rates are low again."

It's Time To Tackle The Inflation and Gas Prices Crisis - With Strong Leadership

There has been no leadership in solving the inflation and gas crisis in the United States. Everyone in the nation knew it was growing and no one tried to stop it. No one sat down and put options on the table, instead they have pointed fingers and threatened those who should be working together on the problem. When you know there is a problem but do nothing about it except make the situation worse, then there is no leadership. We have no had a leader that looks at the problems and find a solution for the betterment of the whole, the people of the United States. We have had, and sill have closed minded leaders who refuse to lead. So this problem on the nation will be here for a long time until someone sits down and listens. As a mediator this whole situation frustrates me greatly because no one will sit down and focus on the issues. I wish I could call them all up, come over to the house, I have a big table and lets find a solution. But come with options to put on the table.

Layoffs Have Started

Tech layoffs accelerate in June, with more than 7,000 losing their jobs so far. Redfin lets go of about 470 workers or 6% of its staff. Compass is releasing about 450 workers, equaling 10% of its staff. Both companies saw its stock drop ranging from 5% to 10%. Companies are starting to revise their financial positions to make it through a recession. Anticipating home sales cooling nationwide and rising interest rates, the two companies had to lay off workers on Tuesday.

Biden Has Options To Lower Inflation

Biden has options on reducing inflation. First, he needs to abandon his energy policies, they are not working and creating inflation. Before he zooms off to Saudi he needs to sit down with the American oil and gas companies and discuss what needs to happen to get production up and costs down. What can government do to get these refineries that were closed to reopen, what will opening back up the pipelines do for oil production and lowering the costs to the consumer. Sit down with the transportation department and find out a way to lessen the burden on truckers who make up the majority of the supply chain. He needs to sit down with the ways and means committees of Congress and discuss what needs to be done to ease the tax burden on the American people. Then, he needs to cut spending across the board in every department of the United States government. End the money going to countries that hate us that we keep giving money to. End the money flowing to Ukraine because now the country is a sponge and we can't afford sponges. It is too costly to the American people. No more new spending for a certain period of time, when inflation is lowered. But, the President will not do any of this stuff because he is so political that he only thinks politically. Leaders lead by listening. Bad leaders never lead because they don't listen and act. We have a president that does not lead, he blames and calls people names. Why would Americans have any faith in this type of President?

Housing Is Less Affordable For Everyone At Every Level

A new report from Redfin shows that nationally listed rents for available apartments rose 15% from a year ago. And the median listed rent for an available apartment rose above #2,000 a month for the first time. However, rents are up more than 30% in Austin, Seattle, and Cincinnati. In Los Angeles the median asking rent is $3,400. Even in formerly affordable ities such as Nashville it's now $2,140, up 32% from last year. To buy a home the prices are so inflated that it is risky not knowing what the market will do and if a bubble should burst and drive prices down. Which has started in some markets. So we have a problem in the housing market and inflation is affecting our financial lives.

The Forgiving Part of Business and Life

Welcome, it is a beautiful Sunday morning here in South Carolina. There is a great quote from Nelson Mandel that says, "When a deep injury is done to us, we never heal until we forgive." Zindzi Mandela, the daughter of Nelson Mandela use to be my client before she passed away from Covid. One night we were up talking and she told me about her experience with her father in prison, how she was still out fighting, waiting for her father to come home. When he was finally released and he sat down with her daughter, Zindzi was ready to continue the fight against the South African government. He said, Zindzi, we have to forgive and heal this nation. They had to forgive. Now that is a tough thing to imagine, being locked up for years by a corrupt government. Nelson went on to becoming the President of South Africa and Zindzi became the SA Ambassador to Denmark.

We as humans have this ability to remember things that happened in the past that hurt us greatly. When we are at times of stress we remember these bad times again. A friend once told me as we were talking about forgiveness, he said, "you have to look up, and say - Lord, help me forgive one more time. During this inflation time of our lives we are going to have stressful moments. To keep our mental health in check we are going to have to forgive one more time to make it through any tough time in our life. Forgiveness will help us think clearer and put thought in our decision making process of moving forward.

A Trucking Company Owners Story and His Plea

In my Facebook account there was a posting from a trucker that owns three trucks and explained his hurt trying to keep his business alive. Here is a copy of it below:

Jay writes...I need to get something off my chest… I generally refrain from talking politics, and especially making political posts, however I need to say this.

What I’m going to post is real, not somebody that a friend’s, cousin’s, sister’s, neighbor has happening to them…

I own a small trucking company, and this is what the fuel crisis is doing to our country… so this directly affects me, you, our children, our country.

Today I filled up my truck to deliver products that help keep our country fed. When I filled up my truck, it cost me $1,149.50. This is ONE truck, for ONE day of fuel. I own three. So for one day of operation, it’s costing me $3,448.50. (Yes, we use a full tank of fuel every single day, sometimes more than 1 tank per day)

My trucks generally run 5-6 days a week, so we’ll just estimate on the low side and say 5. That’s $17,242.50. Last week was over $20k for ONE week, that I have to pay out of my pocket to try and keep not only my children fed, but those of my employees, and our country.

Mark my words, we are on a downhill slide to the worst recession our country has ever seen. If you don’t believe me, I implore you to do your research.

Trucking companies are going under left and right. (Literally hundreds weekly) If you’re not aware, what you’re wearing, what you’re eating, what you’re living in, what you’re driving, what you’re reading this on, was delivered by a truck.

If something drastic doesn’t change in the next few weeks/months, I promise you

, you’ll see empty shelves everywhere you look. You’ll see chaos as people fight for the basic necessities of everyday life. Food, medicine, etc...

If something doesn’t change, I pray that all of you have the ability, knowledge, and skills to fend for yourselves. Not only against those who would do you or your family harm, but to be able to find sustainable food and water.

This is a scary time. Not only for small business owners, but every single American.

So please, please do your research when we vote for those we place in power. This isn’t just on the federal level, but on the state levels as well. We have got to start making informed decision based on fact. Not because the media says we should like/dislike somebody.

Truck drivers are out here going for broke, holding onto something we know this country needs.

So if you know a truck driver, please tell them to hold on as long as they can. Our country won’t survive without them…

Making Tough Business Decisions During A Recession

As you know I am writing a book called, "Per God on Business". There is a great verse that deals with making decisions in business. In Luke 16: 10-11 it says - Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much. So if you have not been trustworthy in handling worldly wealth, who will trust you with true riches?" The whole verse is about trust, really ethics. In the next few days and months, every business is having to make touch decisions to keep their business alive. And ethics plays a big role in how you handle this economic stress in your business. Some of you are going to have to let people go. It is a tough decision, but you can do it professionally and ethically. Some of you will have to deal with vendors and let them know you will have to look at other options so that your supply chain is not disrupted, your products and services are not hurt. You can do this professionally and ethically. Sit down with your journal, jot out your thoughts and planning, sit down with your accountants and advisors, and move forward.

Pizza Hut's Children's Reading Program Endorses LGBT Books To Read

I hate politics and woke politics, where companies take on social political agenda's and push it onto their consumers. Pizza Hut has a reading program called "Book It", for the month of June hey are promoting three books for kids to read on Pride Month and the diversity of the LGBTQ+ community. Every time a company takes on a social political agenda, they do damage to their company. Especially when it deals with children. They exclude the parent and go directly right to the child. Ethically that is wrong. Billions of dollars are lost every year when companies create conflict. We have seen it happen to so many woke businesses just in the past few months. Conflict with their employees, consumers and stockholders. Once you allow politics into any business it creates conflict. Politics is so unethical that it creates division and harms any business that let's it in. Businesses have to remain focused on what they do and what they can do to improve their business. Politics allows them to get distracted because it creates division. This is any politics, you saw what happened to "My Pillow" when the owner brought politics into his business, he lost many stores that were carrying his product. So left or right politics is bad for business on every count. Ethics is vital in business, unethical politics needs to be outside the business at all times.

Elon Musk Tells His Tesla Employees - Return To The Office And Work

Elon Musk announced that all employees at Tesla have to return to work - in the office. Which I agree with. Working from home is nice, but how much productivity are employers getting from you? Plus, working from the office does make you more productive and there are other issues. Working remotely is limiting valuable relationships at work. It may even be stunting some people's career development. We have also become really bad communicators and our customer care level has gone down. It's good to talk, the most advantages come from increased social interaction, clearer boundaries between home and work, and even improved career opportunities. It's time for employees to return to work in the office.

Here is a fun piece of information. The sales of robots from the beginning of 2022 has gone up 40%. Which means a lot of jobs are going to be replaced by robots. The healthcare industry has come to people with experience and expertise and told them, we want you to come and help us out. We don't want to hire the younger employee anymore, they have bad work habits, they don't put in a full day, and they feel they are owed something. Right now a lot of older more seasoned experienced people are being asked to come back into the work place. This is not a good message of the new graduates who have become woke in thought, where it is all about them and no one else. So, if you are starting out - build your experience level and become an expert in your field - what you are good at.

A Weekend Of Zero Politics, It Was Great!

This past memorial weekend I decided to cut out all social media, especially Twitter that creates a lot of frustration to me as I read the postings there on politics and business. So I shut it down for the weekend. Best weekend ever. We need to cut off this social media that is frustrating us because it does us no good. The less we have of politics in our lives the better and happier we are. Politics is an unhealthy politically corrupt entity, once it gets in our businesses, churches and families, it corrupts and becomes unethical. Try it. Go without social media for the weekend. Limit your time. You will feel better and become more productive.

Hello Sunday, Let's Engage With Your Children

As a certified mediator I hear a lot of stories from families that have lost the process of parenting and don't know how to communicate with their children, and the children don't know how to communicate with their family This is where problems start. Communication, especially the process of listening and responding, focused on the issue. Problems begin when parents are so busy, the hustle and bustle of life takes over, and they forget about the process of engaging communication with their children. Some use a video game to act as a baby sitter, I have seen disputes erupt in families because of video games and an IPad. I have seen children in mediation become violent because the use of an IPad was taken away. These video games and iPads have become a conflict in families that leads to more violent acts by kids. Now is the time to engage with your children, learn the communication process, and understand that these kids are in a new world that you and I did not grow up in. But there is still time to take back the engagement process, enhance it, communicate it, and move forward. Number one rule - Listen.

I Am Thinking About Texas and Asking The Question - Are We To Blame?

Normally my podcast is about business, I love business. But today I am thinking about the kids and teachers killed in Texas and asking, are we to blame for this? It is easy to let kids sit down in front of video games that allows kids to kill everyday. When does a game become a reality because kids now look differently at death. And I ask the question, are we to blame? Have we not engaged our kids on one on one enough and let video games and media be the babysitter of our kids? I think we need to look at this question very deep, because we are all guilty of it. Sit down and listen to the conversations your kids are having online as they play their games. They are planning attacks, what weapon to use, how many people they are going to take out. Listen to their conversations. You may think it is all in fun, but is it? Is this healthy? Does it do damage to their mental health and where death is just a game? Are we to blame?

Twitter, Client Data, and Is Your Business and Personal Data Secure

Twitter will pay a $150 million penalty and put in new safeguards to settle federal regulators' allegations that the social platform failed to protect the privacy of users' data over a six-year span. "Twitter obtained data from users on the pretext of harnessing it for security purposes but then ended up also using the data to target users with ads," FTC Chair Lina Khan said in a statements. I am sure that Elon Musk is doing his due diligence to make sure there are no other risk issues with this company as he plans to acquire it.

Then the question goes to us in business. How safe is your client data? Do you have a client data protection plan in place? Every business should have one. Especially tax preparers and CPA firms. They collect all of your family and financial data on you. Ask your accountant if they have a client data protection plan in place? Per the FTC a tax preparer has the same rules on client data protection rules as a bank. Any business should now have a client protection data plan in place.

Cut Your Expenses, Tighten Your Belts and Build Up Cash

In a San Francisco Business Journal article, Sequoia Capital is warning founders of the companies they have invested in to conserve cash and slash spending. The group gave a stark warning for its portfolio companies. Cut costs now. In early May the Menlo Park-based venture firm shared a presentation with its founders in which it warned them of a pending economic downturn that will last much longer and be more severe than what happened at the outset of the Covid-19 pandemic. They said that companies need to tighten their belts.

"Companies who move the quickest have the most runway and are most likely to avoid the death spiral." Sequoia said in its presentation.

"It is not the strongest of the species that survive, nor the most intelligent, but the one most responsive to change." the venture firm said in its presentation.

Mediate Before You Litigate

Mediation is the best way to resolve conflicts and disputes, rather then spending a year or more in court.

Pros of Mediation

They can save time and money. Litigating your divorce, business dispute, workplace conflict, or any kind of dispute/conflict in court could draw out proceedings over a year. Alternative dispute resolution could wrap up your dispute or conflict within days. Even if you hire legal counsel, avoiding trial can help preserve assets, as your legal bills for appearing in court can be substantial.
They help keep matters private. Litigation becomes a matter of public record. Mediation and arbitration are more likely to maintain your family’s confidentiality.
They can be less stressful for children. Taking child custody issues to court means leaving decisions up to a judge. The outcome may not be what the children or parents would prefer. A trial is also usually more acrimonious and can leave children feeling caught in the middle or hostile toward both parents.
Business Disputes Can Be Settled Quickly. Instead of going through the litigation process a business dispute can be worked out, through a mediator, to resolve the conflict. Many times it can keep business flowing and build stronger relationships.
They allow both parties to retain control over outcomes. In litigation, a judge may resolve your issues in ways that neither you nor your partner like. Mediation and arbitration give you more control.
They’re not all-or-nothing. You don’t have to resolve 100% of your issues outside of court for mediation or arbitration to make your divorce or separation easier.
They don’t preclude going to court later. If you can’t work out certain issues in mediation or arbitration, you can take the unresolved matters to court.

Using YouTube To Listen To Customers

I have been planning a road trip for the summer so I have been watching YouTube. One of the items I will need is a camper van to make this trip in. So, I have been watching YouTube videos from vloggers to do RV reviews. What I have found out is that the manufacturers are watching to, they are watching their competition and they are listening to the comments on these YouTube vlogs. Some of the manufactures listen and make changes based on what customers and buyers of the RV's are saying. They are getting free information of customers and want to be customers - for free. This podcast is about listening to your customers.

I may have to postpone my road trip through the 28 remaining states, gas and diesel prices are so high that it would not be economical to do it right now. So, the positive - I have more time to decide what type of RV I would like. If you have any suggestions, send them to me at info@lodge-co.com.

Saturday Morning Thoughts

There are times I wonder if this podcast is reaching people, if people are listening to what I say. I heard a great quote that snapped me out of this thought process because it was funny - "I feel as useless as the letter G in lasagna". I heard it and I laughed because that is how I feel sometimes with this podcast. However, I will continue to talk about issues that affect our lives, right now it is inflation and bad policies coming out of Biden and the Congress. I feel we need to be more aggressive because the economy is going to get worse. Gas is predicted to jump to $10 per gallon. We don't have enough oil production. Sub-Prime mortgages are going into foreclosures at the moment because of inflation and rising interest rates. People are not able to meet their monthly loan payments because everything is to costly. We have a lot of other issues, besides inflation, that are going to drive the nation into a very deep recession that may be considered a depression. We have trouble coming.

$40 Billion Reasons Why Sen. Lindsey Graham Has Got To Go South Carolina

Today South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham came out and tried to justify why he is voting to fund Ukraine with $40 BILLION dollars. Now Graham has been pushing this war with Putin for years, he and John McCain went to Ukraine promising to support them. He wants Putin gone, in fact he even came out a few months ago and said someone needs to take Putin out. So my friends here in South Carolina, we have $40 billion reasons why Graham should no longer be our Senator and it is time to make a change. We need to vote people into office who understands inflation, the affects of massive overspending, and how to put options on the table that Americans can use. We can not longer afford fickle Senators like Graham. South Carolina, it's time for a change. A new voice of the people need to go to the Senate that will represent the needs of South Carolinians.

Business Ethics Matter, Wokeness Kills A Business With Conflict

Businesses that allow political agenda's and wokeness into their companies will create conflict. Conflict comes in many forms. Internal and external, and investor conflict. Politics is an unethical entity that if allowed inside you business will take the company into conflict. We see it in Twitter, Disney, Facebook, Coke and other businesses that decided to take a political position that created conflict. When a company becomes woke they push their main business focus to the side and become corrupted by politics. Then the conflict begins. Every business, especially during this election year, should be sitting down with their management and boards and establish ethical boundaries on politics of the company or from employees inside the company. Conflict can be eliminated by keeping wokeness politics outside the company. Every small business and big business should also have an ethical policy on politics in their employee handbooks. It needs to be addressed because politics can get out of control quickly. Unethical behavior erupts when politics is allowed in companies. Senior executives that try and push a social political agenda need to be told to stop. Political behavior can destroy the branding of a company, and we see this happening every day. People, focus on your business, not your politics.

Preparing For Food and Gas Shortages

In the next few weeks America is going to be hit by deiseal shortages that will affect the trucking industry, delivery of food, and creating inflation to get worse. A story came out of Bloomberg yesterday that said the country of Sri Lanka has run out of petrol and is unable to find dollars to finance essential imports. They had one day left of gas. That was yesterday, so as I do this podcast they are out of fuel. One of the biggest reasons America is running out of Deiseal fuel is that we are sending a good portion of it to Europe. They use to get their fuel from Russia, and now they are getting it from the United States. However, that means America is running out and since refiners had shut down some units, we are producing less fuel. This is a direct action of Biden's energy policy.

So knowing that a food supply and fuel supply is about here in the next few weeks, that means Americans have got to get prepared. Make sure your pantries are stocked up with canned goods. You have frozen meats in your freezer. Your car is filled up with gas, never let it get to the half way mark. And make sure you have cash in the house for emergencies. The other issue, look at your car and home security. There has been a rash of gas theft out of cars and RV's. Look at your security and safety of your home. Just be prepared.

Elizabeth Warren And Her Hate Towards Business

I am always talking about the politicians who are trying to do more harm to businesses in the United States. Elizabeth Warren, Senator from Massachusetts, is writing a bill that would make all forms of businesses justify to a federal government agency as to why they are raising their prices. No government agency should be allowed to monitor, or even tell business how much or when they can raise prices. The Senator knows nothing about business. If she did, she would understand what business is about, to make money for their stockholders and to create jobs. But Warren want you to justify to government why you raised your prices. This is the same view of socialist and communist governments. This is why it is so important for all of us in business to monitor what your Senators and members of Congress are doing. Take 30 minutes a day an make sure you know what these politicians are supporting as bills in Congress that will affect your business. Remember, it is not about demarcate or republican, because both sides write some very stupid bills. Be aggressive in challenging these politicians on their thought process on business. Even on your personal side of life. Challenge your politicians.

Tell Your Senator NO - $40 Billion To Ukraine - America First

Right now in the United States Senate there is a bill to fund the Ukraine war with another $40 billion dollars. They are doing this knowing that by spending more money they increase inflation. Inflation is hurting the American people every single day. The Senate is pushing this to fund a country that is known for it's corruption, in fact it has made many US politicians very rich. I don't need to go into that story.

Every time the government starts to spend money ($40 billion dollars of it) it raises inflation on the American people. Now remember, none of that money is going to Americans who need it, instead it is going to fund a war that will go on and on. When was the last time we have heard about peace talks? From the United Nations - none. From the EU - none. From the United States - none. No one is talking peace, instead our politicians like Lindsey Graham keep pushing for more war. Honestly, I have had it with Senators like this. They put other nations before America. This has got to stop. Call your Senator, get the capital switchboard to light up like a Christmas tree - tell your senator to vote - NO.

Regarding Elon Musk putting a pause on the purchase of Twitter, it is not a bad thing. He is doing his due diligence of the company and asking that questions be answered. His concern is are fake accounts on Twitter make up more then 5%? It's a good question. Greater then 5% of fake business is a solid question to be asking. Does Twitter have as many subscribes as they say they have - real ones. This is part of buying a company - scrubbing the numbers.

Two Things To Talk About

Last night the US Senate voted on the Roe V. Wade Codification bill and it did not pass. 49 - 51. This bill was much more then just codification, it went out and changed several state laws without the states being able to debate it or fight it. However, it did not pass. Elizabeth Warren then immediately went out to the press and demanded the the filibuster rule in the Senate be removed. You have to understand that this rule allows either side to fight a bad bill. It has been around for ages. If taken away it will not allow a debate on a bill and it will go straight to vote. Yes, government may be slow at times, but when you take away debate on a bad bill, then we as Americans are in trouble. So, I am happy that it was defeated and we move forward. Remember, whatever you see in the Congress and Senate is pure politics, trying to get their base of voters going. Dirty rotten politics.

Also, Biden yesterday canceled a few oil leases. Why? Because they were in legal lawsuits by environmental groups. There are 22 of these large number of leases that are in legal limbo. But his politics says that the oil and gas companies are not producing so he is taking them away. Don't believe the President on this one. It's all politics. Now you are asking the question, if a barrel of oil goes down then gas prices should come down? No, not all the time. Biden's energy policy has created so much stress on oil refineries that many have shut down. We are operating with fewer refineries and the cost of refining has gone up. Thus, gas prices goes up - we are producing less fuel, less inventory. Again, it points back to Biden and his policies. He has stood in front of the American people and lied and said it is not his policies. Yes, it is his policies. Some refineries had to close because the Biden energy policies made it to costly to produce gas, they were loosing money on them. Again, remember all of this is dirty rotten politics of a President that doesn't care if you are paying more for gas that raises the costs on everything. He doesn't care. It's all politics to him.

The Spending Whores In Congress - $40 Billion Dollars

Last night 219 democrats, 149 republicans voted to spend another $40 billion dollars on Ukraine. Sending it to a country where they are corrupt fighting another corrupt nation. These 149 republicans have been on every single TV news shows yelling at the democrats for creating inflation by overspending, and then the republicans goody shoe politicians vote to spend more money. These are fools in Congress. I call them whores for power. However, both parties are not to be trusted with the money we send them through our taxes. Our only defense - our vote. We can start making changes. The only problem is that good people go to Washington to make changes and then become the problem. Over spending will never help this country. Expect inflation to get worse, not better under these politicians.

What Are You Doing Philippines? Marcos? Really

In the early hours of a February morning in 1986, Ferdinan and Imelda Marcos flew into exile. After 21 years as president of the Philippines, Marcos had rigged one too many elections. The army and everyone had turned against him. Philippino's ransacked the Presidential mansion and found thousands of shoes, diamonds, paintings, and to this day over $10 billion dollars is unaccounted for. And yet, knowing all of the history of the Marcos family you vote the son of a crook to become President of your country. So you think things will change? You don't think the Marcos family has kept names of people that went against them? Vengeance is the Marcos family. Imelda's LV bag is open, waiting for the money to flow in. You see, corruption never ends in the Philippines because you keep voting in corrupt leaders. Elections matter, and you chose to go in the same old direction of corruption. You see, we Americans still remember. We never forgive corrupt leaders.

However, America did the same thing. We voted in a corrupt family as President. We have the same problem here in the United States. However, we make corrections - quickly.

I Hate To Be Fact Checked By Facebook On The Economy

I posted a picture of a gas station sign that showed old gas prices and it was really a joke sign, kind of. The numbers were right but there was a sign also that said, these were the numbers before Biden took office. Which is true, they were the numbers where I live. However, Facebook said it was misinformation. So it looks like the HHS office of misinformation is working with Facebook now to remove jokes and messages about Biden and his higher gas prices. In fact, even this podcast will probably be tagged as misinformation. All you can do it laugh about it. But the gas numbers were right. When I moved here to South Carolina the price of gas was below $2. Now it is over $5 a gallon. No lie to that, not misinformation, I have felt it in my debit card when buying gas. Todays podcast is about Facebook and the economy - go ahead - factcheck me! It's a joke people at Facebook.

Over the last few days I saw where protestors and supporters of abortion are going into churches and disrupting services. They have vowed to do it in churches on Mothers day. We have some evil people out there that are driven by evil politics. Going into a house of God and corrupting it with politics is evil. If there is no God in peoples lives then everything evil is permitted in their minds. However, the best part is that the love for moms is so strong that is shuts out the evil of politically driven people. Be happy. It's your day. At some point in your day, a child is going to go up to you and put their arms around you and say, Mom I love you. Put those words in your memory bank and bring them out when there is chaos, anger, happy time, sad times, and always remember you are loved. The love you have shown to your children will come back to bless you ten times more. You are blessed as a mom.

Let's Stop And Use Some CommonSense

We need to start shutting down the political noise and start making good old fashioned commonsense decisions. Stop the politics. Decide on what is good and bad, or ethical or unethical, an that is right and wrong. The politics is a corrupt evil in our nation and it is creating a problem for us all to focus, to use commonsense. Ethical commonsense.

We have an inflamed economy where everything we touch costs three times as much as it did. When we go into the store we are counting the costs of the items we are placing in our baskets. We are making economic decisions right on the spot. People would like to purchase homes but the real estate is so highly inflated and the interest rates are rising, so now is not the right time to buy when we know in our gut the market is going to drop and foreclosures will begin. So now, commonsense tells us, now is not the time to buy. We don't have the cash flow to support big purchases, everything in inflated so commonsense says that now is not the time. Follow commonsense. Think it through. Take 24 hours to make a major decision, use the commonsense approach to make your decisions.

I am going to talk about inflation and making business decisions over and over again, because it is so important for you to understand that where we stand in time at the moment and that inflation affects our finances greatly. And how we manage our finances is an important part of taking care of our lives and families.

Biden Economics and Roe V. Wade

Today Biden held a press conference on Roe v. Wade and the economy. On the economy he said nothing to show there is a plan from the Whitehouse to improve Americans financial lives, instead he bragged about an issue that does not affect Americans daily lives. America is going into a recession and it is now time for all of us, especially in business, to re-adjust our businesses to fight the recession problems coming our way. We have to adjust and work on our debt, how we run our companies, and how to move forward. Now the big part of this puzzle is what is Biden and Congress going to do next? So we pause and adjust.

The other issue he talked about was Roe v. Wade, and he went off into make believe tangents. Trying to scare, but he was just adjusting his target because his liberal policies have failed so bad. So Roe v. Wade has again become an election topic, attack, on Americans. So I want you to listen to my story and see if you understand why I am against abortion because of my own life story.

The Supreme Court Has Been Corrupted By A Liberal Political Activist

I woke up this morning and found out that the Supreme Court had been attacked by a liberal activist inside the court that compromised the court by leaking a court opinion. This is not acceptable. It puts our court and constitution at risk because of politics.

Businesses Need Law Enforcement Help In Their Communities

Law and order is vital for American small businesses in communities where DA's have decided that it is ok to rob stores. It's not the police officers fault, it is the District Attorneys law for not enforcing the laws and protecting small businesses. Crooks are walking into stores and just taking them. No one can stop them. The DA will not prosecute. In California crooks take stuff less then $900 because that is how the law is written in California. Business suffer and have to shut down. Killing jobs and businesses. We have got to become more aggressive in our pressure on District Attorneys in upholding the rule of law - prosecuting the criminal.

If an election for a DA is in your community, follow the dirty money from far left or Soros. If they are being funded by dirty money, crime will increase in your community. If people support the notion of defund the police, vote them out of office. Small Businesses need your help. Support them, protect them, be aggressive with the DA's offices. The rule of law is so very vital to all of our communities.

TGIF We Make It Through Another Week

Thank goodness it is Friday, we made it through another week of nonsense. Biden wants congress to approve another $33 Billion dollars for Ukraine, as Americans are threatened by a border crisis and a recession in the economy. Every American should say no more money to Ukraine, and any member of Congress who votes for more spending should be voted out of office.

Small businesses are in trouble, restaurants are in trouble, and the American family finances are in trouble. Banks are starting to lay off their mortgage departments and asking if realtors can take on foreclosures. A price of a watermelon, where I live, is at $10 for one. American's saving have dropped significantly for the month of March. Confirmation that savings boom is over: personal savings rate fell to 6.2% in March, lowest since 2013. People are being hit with inflation that their bank accounts can no longer hold money, it is being eaten up. Face - credit card debt has significantly jumped.

I am not even worried about Elon Musk, he has enough to survive on. But some Americans are complaining, moaning and groaning, but who cares. Nothing to get worried about. When conservatives were all upset about censorship, they left Twitter. But now they are back. Now liberals are mad at Twitter so they are leaving. But they will come back. It is nothing but a nonsense cycle of Americans that got their feelings hurt. I don't care.

But I do care about the economy and Americans. I want economists, banks and Wallstreet to finally tell the truth and just say we are in a recession. Not almost, maybe there, or could be, just be honest and say - we are in a recession. If you can't say it, I will form a group of recovering economy deniers and you can say to the American people - Yes, we are in a recession.

If I Owned Twitter, I would........

All of us would like to sit back with a cup of coffee and think about, if I bought Twitter, what would I do? What changes would I make? What other options for users would I add? And the list goes on. In this podcast I fantasize about what I would do if I owned Twitter and to deal with issues in the company. We all have had our issues with Twitter, especially if you are producing content on Twitter on a daily basis. Twitter has had a strong arm of censorship in the last two years, in fact it got dangerously out of control. Political activism was very strong in Twitter and they made some harsh calls on people and organizations. Even Twitter has admitted to that issue. However, those same employees who made those harsh calls are still in the company and being very verbal about their new owner. That has to be dealt with in a professional manner where business ethics ends the political activism in their business decisions. I like Musk's response yesterday that Twitter needs to be a neutral place where what they do makes the left and right equally mad.

If you feel, as an employee, you have the right to push your own personal political views and agenda on people in a company, or their customers, you are wrong. Your job as an employee is to make sure the operations and systems in Twitter is doing what it should to provide the customers with the best experience ever. Your opinion on politics in business does not matter. Politics is not an ethical entity, and once it is allowed into a company it creates conflict. That is what happened at Twitter, they were no longer neutral, they became political activists. If you look at all of the companies who have become political activists, they have had failures and have hurt their shareholders, and the value of their company. So Musk has a challenge to express what his goals are going forward and what is expected out of each employee that remains with the company he bought.

Senator Schumer Wants To Raise Taxes! Is He Out Of His Mind?

Senator Schumer announced that to help inflation it is time to raise taxes. Is he out of his mind? Has he lost the only marbles left in his head? Did they not learn before that by raising taxes and spending that it hit Americans hard with inflation, that has now led to a recession? Do they know nothing about the economics of American life or is it that they just don't care? I have a feeling it is that they just don't care. You see when politicians go to Washington it becomes all about the power they have and the kind of money they can spend. You and I, Mr. and Mrs. Taxpayer are no longer cared about because their drive is to spend because power comes with spending our money. So Schumer has lost his ability to think for the American people and do what is right, instead he has a political agenda he wants to push that will attack the financial lives of Americans. Poor or rich, we all get hit.

But we can do something, and that is act proactive on our own personal finances. Protect our own families and lives by sitting down and planning well. So You Want To Leave Twitter? Really?

Remember a one or two years ago the conservatives did not like what Twitter was doing so they all vowed to leave? And here we are today with conservatives going back to Twitter and Liberals leaving. It is a repeat of history, just a different group. So we have copycats in the world of Twitter. Instead of staying and debating the issues, listeners don't want to play anymore so they run. I did the same thing when all this stuff was happening at Twitter, I left, but I didn't leave long because I went to sites where everyone thought the same way. There was no new ideas or debate. I went back to Twitter because I want to hear the ideas and passion of other people. I wanted a good solid debate, not the hashing of all the talking points that is going on. So if you are thinking about leaving Twitter because you don't like what may be said, then you are a weak sole. But, if you want to debate the issues and find common ground - stay in Twitter. It's good to debate.

Twitter Employees - Change Is Good

With every acquisition there comes change. Some people will be weak and run. They are unsure of change. Great quote, if you are unsure - change! I have been involved in several acquisitions and my job was to go to the various offices of the new company and find out what was going on with the employees. I sat and I interviewed each one, finding out what their views are. Some did not stay, they couldn't take it. The ones that did stay excelled and grew and took on new opportunities. They adapted to change and learned from change. Now with Elon Musk you are going to be working with an individual that has built things from nothing and he understands change and adaptability. You can learn from him and his team. Take on the challenge of change.

Now if you think your role is to push a political agenda, then you are wrong. Your role is to work for the customer and make their experience better. There will be a new rules of engagement that you will have to adapt to and it is not a political one. You role is to enhance twitter as a business, not as a political machine. No company should become a political agenda driven company, it never works and it creates far too much conflict. So, if your still going to be political, it is better that you do leave, because Twitter is a business.

Teach Kids About Money At Schools and Home

When I was in grade school my teacher had a bank come to the school every week so we could have a bank account and put our allowances that our parents gave up in our accounts. I learned to save. When I got to highschool, we were taught home economics and mechanics. We were taught how to balance check books, budgets and how to cook and make stuff. In college, everyone was required to take a course called, "Marriage and Family Life". We got no credit for it, but we were required to understand the responsibilities of family budgets and the commitment to marriage. I would argue, that to start learning about money when your a kid, makes you a better adult because you have learned early on the importance and responsibilities of money. I would even argue, that all schools should be teaching their kids about their personal finances. At school and at home. Parents have the responsibility also. Make time!

All of us, single, married, significant others, have to sit down together and put your budget together. During inflation you have to be a good steward of your finances, otherwise you just will not make it.
