This is the sound of electrical signals as two neurons communicate with each other. Your brain has 90 billion of such neurons, which are active listening to my voice right now. This was made possible by evolution, which over the last 4.5 billion years has made your brain what it is. Every thought you have, every memory, every sensation, none of it would exist without this vast, ancient process. This raises two questions which this podcast series wants to address. What happened over the last 4.5 billion years? And how do 90 billion cells organize themselves to form what is essentially the human mind? My name is Dr. Marvin Seifert. Welcome to The Darwinian Brain.
