<itunes:subtitle>How might digitalization and disruptive technologies influence industries in the future</itunes:subtitle>
 <itunes:summary>
Sweden’s future is becoming increasingly uncertain as disruptive technologies transform the nature of business and work while global challenges, such as climate change and migration, hover on the horizon, threatening societal progress. The challenge is that even though we all think about the future every day, we tend to do so individually and in a more unconscious way. With these podcasts, we hope to encourage individuals in Sweden and across the globe to actively contribute to a discussion of how to create a more socially, economically, and environmentally sustainable future.

The furniture industry: an industry that is strongly characterized by traditional working methods and old fashioned resource management. With a long history, the furniture industry has undergone many changes over the years. With new technological innovations and society’s increased demands for sustainability, it is destined to change further in the coming years. Therefore, you may wonder: What will the furniture industry look like in 5-10 years from now? This is exactly the question we, Futuristic Opportunities, will try to answer in this podcast. Join us as we, together with the help of several experts, analyze the current situation of the industry and discuss how the future of furniture will look like.

The podcast is divided into three parts. First off we get the help of an industry expert to get an overview of the current climate of the furniture industry. The second part consists of giving a student, who is eager to know more about the furniture industry, the spotlight. This student gives his own thoughts about furniture and interviews several experts of the industry. Lastly, the third part of the podcast includes a discussion of the information provided earlier on in the podcast and a run-down of several possible scenarios for the future. Three questions are also presented for the listener to reflect on.

Student Team:

Emil Ekdahl Leeman

William Samin (saminw@chalmers.se)

Filip Spong

Oliver Brink

Linn Eriksson

Gustav Lidbacken

Hosted on Acast.
