The TankCast: The Beginning

Hello, and welcome to April. Back when the world was considerably less weird, we did a very dumb April Fool's joke very few people actually paid attention to. We were early on in the DroughtCast and Corey had already joked that we were gonna have to do a podcast series about the Sabres being bad once we finished with the Bills. Considering the Drought was ongoing at the time, it was funny because, well, who knew even when the Bills would be done haunting us?

Things quickly changed that fall, of course, but on April 1, 2017 we quietly posted the "first" episode of The TankCast, which we framed as a game-by-game recap of every single individual hockey game the team played after the spring of 2011. We made the episode appear long enough to be a full podcast, but it was only a few minutes with a lot of silence and some audio every 14 minutes or so, a joke I completely forgot about until looking for it last night.

We reposted it here today because, well, there's not much really going on. It's also oddly fitting that this lines up exactly where we are with the current TankCast, a real thing we are actually doing now. Our fifth episode is in the works, and it will actually cover that Anaheim game but also a lot of other games. Hopefully it's a bit better in execution than the joke it started out as.
