That was in 2013 – it proved that we can grow meat in a lab, but the cost, engineering, and biological challenges meant that cultivated meat was a far cry from being a viable alternative for supermarkets.</p><p>10 years on, that’s all changed. For the first time, the science behind cell cultivation has progressed to the point where mass production and consumption of meat from cultivated cells is possible at a price point that’s on par with traditionally farmed meat.</p><p>An Israel-based biotechnology company Pluri, is at the heart of this transformation.
