It only make sense that we have a Heavenly Mother for what is bound on earth is bound in Heaven. As there is no way to create life on earth without a mother and a father, the same holds true in Heaven and our pre-earth existence. Every Christian acknowledges God as our Father, so how can we not have a Heavenly Mother as well?

Our Heavenly Mother is a beautiful, amazing, special being, just like all women and mothers on earth. In fact, each earthly woman is patterned after our Mother in Heaven. The concept of heavenly parents is an eternal truth and it is up to you to develop a wonderful relationship with your mother in Heaven. We encourage it!

The most common areas in our lives where we struggle with setting personal boundaries is with money, our relationships, our own behavior, food, our time, and even our church callings and activities. When we fail to set healthy boundaries with ourselves, we invite all kinds of problems into our lives that don't need to be there.

We discuss the main reasons why kids need boundaries which is the foundation for understanding how to help them set their own. Improper boundaries create rebelliousness in children and severs the connection with them. Ask yourself, are your boundaries with your kids changing as they grow up, or are they remaining the same.

Healthy boundaries are set out of love and not fear, which is not so easy. Fear is the main motivator for setting boundaries within the culture of the church. There is a distinct difference between setting boundaries using discipline and setting boundaries using punishment.

God created three kingdoms of glory for a reason, knowing not all His children would be happy in the same kingdom. We have our agency and we are encouraged to use it to set boundaries that we are happy with, regardless of what others think.

The natural man urges us to become a slave to our desires, passions, and appetites for the things of the world. Those things are not bad in themselves; we have been given these desires by a loving Heavenly Father who wants us to enjoy our desires and passions, but keep them within healthy boundaries for our own benefit and happiness.

God's plan of Agency, or the freedom to choose, requires opposition for it to work. For example, we cannot choose good if there is no evil. So Satan has a specific role in this great plan, but he operates under strict boundaries that God has imposed. That is good news for us! By understanding the role the adversary has, and what he can and cannot do, we gain control and have no need to fear.

Things like the adversary, the natural man, and the culture of the church make us feel like we are separated and alone in this life. Only Satan, and those that chose to follow him, are truly separated from God, and will be forever. However, we are not completely separated from God; the veil that stands between us and the Spirit World is permeable - we may not be able to see God but we can hear Him. The connection to God is always there.

Doing is easy because it is measurable, for example setting a goal. Being, on the other hand, is like trying to measure your soul. No real yard stick for that. Joy and happiness come from creating a congruence between doing and being; in other words, finding a way to act in harmony with who we really are.

The culture of the church teaches doing, rather than being the person God meant us to be. We live in a trance every day just trying to follow the checklist.

But I love being wrong about things like that! There is a strong message in the world that we have to do things on our own in order for us to have any kind of sense of accomplishment and purpose. But God's way is to let Him show us the way to become who He knows we can be. And we can't do that alone.

The culture of the church wants you to submit to their will, which is not God's will. They want you to follow the checklist so you believe you will be loved and accepted.

Everyone loves Christmas time as it is an opportunity to get together with loved ones, take time off work to relax, and spend quality time with those who mean the most to us. We celebrate those we love with wonderful gifts that show how we feel for those people. It's a wonderful experience!

In this episode we also want to draw your attention to the spiritual gifts that we all have and how we can use them to bless others. We don't always realize what our spiritual gifts are, or that we even have them. Many of them are less conspicuous and even common. But if we become aware of our spiritual gifts, develop them and then share them, we all have the ability to change lives for the better.

God gives us these wonderful gifts and has an expectation that we will use them and not hide them. When we submit our will to God, you become more tuned in to your gifts and will want to share them.

Shame is the foundation for any addiction, including pornography. When we are shamed, we are made to feel that we are "the mistake" instead of "I've made a mistake". Pornography creates a shortcut in our relationships to not have to work at the connection we have with our partner. Pornography is elusive and attractive in a way that we don't have to take it on a date, spend money or energy on it, and it never turns you down. It has become a substitute for connection in our relationships.

The culture of the church creates a foundation of fear that is the foundation for judgement. Our judgement needs to be based in truth instead. Getting rid of judgement in the culture of the church will allow us to create a church of love, a church of openness, and a church of growth. When you are judgmental, you disconnect from others.

Gaining trust in God is a process, not a one shot deal. You have to be able to trust yourself and others, then build your trust to the point where you have complete trust in the Almighty. Trust happens line upon line and the brainwashing of the church culture forces you to put your trust in empty places. The culture of the church turns us into lazy learners and teaches us to not be accountable. We misplace our trust in the culture of the church and this episodes helps us understand how to remove our trust from the culture of the church and put it in God and the atonement of the Savior.

The culture of the church has brainwashed members to think that virtue is about modesty and restricting sexual power. This is not true. Every woman has sexual power, it comes from God; how she uses it determines her virtue.

The key to successful dating is to become aware of yourself. Many people fear that others won't like them for who they really are. People have bad experiences in marriage then feel they have to prove themselves after divorce because they have been told they are not good enough. You are good enough!

We also discuss why it is healthy to get a divorce when your marriage is not based in faith; why you are doing your children a disservice by staying married just for them; and we call out the destructive traditions of the church culture, especially the catastrophic chewing gum analogy that primes people for divorce.

As a bonus I discuss why I prefer to date non-Mormons!

We all have mountains in our lives, whether they are mountains of doubt, loneliness, finances, acceptance or any challenge we face, faith is what creates the miracles that remove those mountains. The trials in our lives are God's plan for us and help us to become the version of ourselves that God sees for us. Faith frees us to trust God and become that person.

There is an ongoing tug of war between our natural man and our spiritual man that creates the opposition to us trusting in God. We have a difficult time believing that God could love us because we know the ways in which we are broken. The culture of the church has spoon fed the gospel to members for so long that it trains members to lean on their own understanding instead of trusting God.

What we really should understand is that we are infinite beings with infinite possibilities if we just open ourselves up to the idea of trusting God to lead us to that infinite potential.
