After losing her leg above the knee in a traumatic car accident, her initial recovery was marked by severe phantom pain, post-traumatic stress disorder, and years of reconstructive surgeries. </p><br><p>A major turning point came through parasport, specifically outrigger canoeing. After losing her leg above the knee in a traumatic car accident, her initial recovery was marked by severe phantom pain, post-traumatic stress disorder, and years of reconstructive surgeries. </p><br><p>A major turning point came through parasport, specifically outrigger canoeing.
