It’s just recently been announced that the Dice Masters World Championship event is going to be taking place at Gen Con this year and NOT the Memphis based Wizkids Celebration event. This seems an odd decision, so we have a little chat about the benefits & the drawbacks of this choice of location for the tournament.

Then we continue our ongoing exploration of the cards in the new Secret Wars set by taking a closer look at its ramp options. What are the ramp texts like? How do they compare to other ramp solutions? How well will they integrate into the current meta?

With the release of the new Secret Wars expansion, we have the introduction of a new card type – Epic Basic Actions. We’re going to take a closer look at these in this week’s episode, making it the EPIC episode.

We’ll start by explaining why these are Epic, both in terms of their position from the Marvel comics source material AND from their game effects. You’ll get a bit of a rundown of their comic book lore, and some chat about their game texts.

Then it’s onto to how those game-texts could be used. There’s some barmy stuff going on with the Epic Basic Actions, and we have a little chat about our initial thoughts on the pros and cons of each card’s game-text. We’ve not got to full combos yet, so drop us a line because we’re definitely coming back to this.

Well… we say “tune in to get the latest news & info about the Wizkids Game Dice Masters”, but this is not your usual MoD episode – we’ve got just one featured segment all about the subject of there being not much to talk about.

We refer in the episode to this instalment’s content as “the frivolous episode”. With the loooong wait for Secret Wars it’s time for the “all filler, no killer” episode segments to start coming out!

So, after detouring into Marvel Snap (for Jocelyn), the Aliens movie, and other such distractions we have two “challenge” segments to share.

The first is “Ready, Steady, Brew”, in which Andy & Chris use Trubie’s online Draft Pack generator to draft up some Superman Kryptonite Crisis packs and make their best teams.

This is our Dice Masters Vs Cancer 2022 tournament report special. Our fundraising event has come to a close and so it is time to have a bit of a chat on how it all went.

Our first featured segment will be a more general discussion about the fundraising effort. How was the event? What were our highlights? And of course, how much was raised? We’ve got a lot of ground to cover, including a massive congratulations to the winner and a list of “thank yous” to all those that helped us made it a success.

Then we’re going to take a closer look at the teams. What were the winning win conditions? How were folks ramping in the absence of Dark Phoenix global? What were the most used cards? And how much did the team building achievements influence the team choices? We’re going to discuss a few key combos that lead to tournament success and share a few thoughts on the meta in a world where the top 8 Worlds teams are banned.
