This prompted a wave of party politics during a debate that was supposed to advocate for the ceasefire in the Middle East. What is an opposition day? Who is the speaker? Was he wrong to do this? We're back for season 3 of Politics on Draught. After our nearly year-long hiatus, we return to the airwaves at a time where an election is looming on both sides of the pond, and I think we all need to take a deep breath and digest.

James and Kartik discuss what they have been doing since season 2, then the boys get to some of the pressing matters of the day. They also explain the new format which will be one monthly podcast to sit down and have a talk with a famous political personality.

Episode #10: Series Finale, Humza Yousef, Labour and Immigration

Today marks the end of season 2 but don't worry we'll back soon with some even bigger and better content. Today is just Kartik and James. We talk about the recent election of Humza Yousef as SNP party leader and First Minister of Scotland following Nichola Sturgeon's resignation. We talk the tensions of the SNP and what Yousef has to do moving forward. We then talk about Labour formally kicking Jeremy Corbyn out the party and the potential ramifications. We then discuss current Labour policy.

We then briefly discuss the immigration developments of housing detained asylum seekers in military facilities and disused cruise ships/barges. Finally we talk the anti-social behaviour crackdown as well as the King's trip to Germany.

We then dive into the Casey Report that found the Met Police to be institutionally racist, homophobic and sexist. Finally we look at the Government's ban of TikTok and Rishi Sunak's long overdue Tax returns.

We discuss the Budget and how we found witnessing all this within the parliamentary environment. We also discuss what the highs and lows of the budget were and what we want to see going forward.

This week on 'Politics on Draught' we are joined by special guest: Conservative MP Elliot Colburn. Before the interview James and Kartik talk about Jeremy Corbyn and it being announced he wont stand as a Labour candidate in 2024. They also talk about the resignation of Nicola Sturgeon and what it means for the SNP.

Elliot Colburn, 30, is the MP for Carshalton and Wallington. A constituency in the south London Borough of Sutton. Elliot was elected in 2019 in the Boris Johnson cohort. He took the constituency after 20 years of Liberal Democrat rule. During the interview we discuss being an MP but also an openly Gay MP and how his experiences have shaped him. We talk Brexit and how it has impacted the Conservative Party, Rishi Sunak and whether he has led with Integrity and Professionalism, and finally an in-depth chat about Elliot's main campaign: to stop the expansion of ULEZ.
