Nicola Sturgeon is giving Bute House the boot, saying politics can be brutal. After nine years as Scotland’s First Minister, she has announced her resignation. 

It leaves Britain and indeed the world wondering about the future of the Scottish question, and indeed the implications not just for The Scottish Parliament elections next year, but for the General Election as well.
