<itunes:summary>The Shit Stick of Life is a podcast about people who have used the proverbial shit stick of life to launch into vibrant, fulfilling, and meaningful next chapters. It’s about how we come back; from failure to betrayal, and move through tragedy and loss. Each episode will feature honest, inspiring conversations about resilience. Podcast host and re-visionary Kortney Wilson knows a thing or two about reinventing herself. She's been an actress (ironically, on the soap opera One Life to Live), a signed recording artist, a reality television star, an author, a real estate agent, a house flipper, a home designer, a style influencer, and the host of multiple shows on HGTV. When her "perfect" marriage of 20 years ended, surfacing decades of secrets and betrayals, the shock and devastation shook her to her core. She called EVERY aspect of her life into question. On The Shit Stick of Life Podcast, Kortney shares her story and goes deep in conversation with her heroes, artists, authors, activists, and others--who have transformed their lives and reinvented themselves in the face of extraordinary setbacks. New episodes drop every other Thursday starting February 2025.

Hosted on Acast.

In this episode, Kortney sits down with Amy Sheppard and Lachlan Stuart as they peel back the curtain on one of the hardest chapters of their journey. Together, they open up about their deeply personal journey through infertility and IVF, a chapter they’ve largely kept private until now.

They share how their relationship began, what they imagined for their future, and how quickly those dreams were challenged when starting a family didn’t go as expected. With raw honesty, Amy and Lachlan talk through the emotional toll of infertility, the strain it placed on their lives, and the pressure couples often feel to stay strong while quietly breaking down.

Throughout the conversation, they reflect on what helped them stay connected, the communication practices that held them together, and the support they leaned on when things felt impossibly heavy. Their openness sheds light on the silent battles so many couples face and offers a compassionate, unfiltered look at resilience, partnership, and navigating the unknown together.

Follow Amy and Lachlan:

https://www.instagram.com/amysheppardpie/?hl=en

https://www.instagram.com/lachlanstuart/?hl=en

https://www.instagram.com/couplegoals.podcast/?hl=en

Amy’s Album:

https://ffm.to/borntobecountry

Blue and Pink Confetti, Amy Sheppard:

https://ffm.to/blueandpinkconfetti

Connect with Kortney:

https://www.instagram.com/allthingskortneywilson

https://www.instagram.com/shitstickoflifepodcast/

https://shows.acast.com/the-shit-stick-of-life

The Kortney Wilson Group

Email: kortney@thekortneywilsongroup.com

Call: (615) 669-7039

Follow: https://www.instagram.com/thekortneywilsongroup/?hl=en

Hosted by Kortney Wilson

Edited and Produced by Emma Stutts

Hosted on Acast. <itunes:summary>
In this unfiltered, laugh-through-the-chaos episode, Kortney is joined by her friends—and returning guests—Ashley and Mel, for a deep dive into the beautiful mess of motherhood. Together, they swap stories about stepping into their “I’m officially in my I-don’t-care era,” the tiny lies moms tell to get through the day, and the unexpected personal growth that comes with finally dropping perfection.

With candid confessions, honest reflections, and plenty of humor, they explore what it really looks like to parent in a world full of expectations. From juggling identity and ego to navigating step-parent dynamics, the trio unpacks the pressure, the community, the connection—and the permission to put yourself back on your own list.

Connect with Kortney:

https://www.instagram.com/allthingskortneywilson

https://www.instagram.com/shitstickoflifepodcast/

https://shows.acast.com/the-shit-stick-of-life

The Kortney Wilson Group

Email: kortney@thekortneywilsongroup.com

Call: (615) 669-7039

Follow: https://www.instagram.com/thekortneywilsongroup/?hl=en

Hosted by Kortney Wilson

Edited and Produced by Emma Stutts

Hosted on Acast. Sometimes, the circumstances bring us to our knees, causing us to question not only how—but if—we can keep going. The Shit Stick of Life is a podcast about people who have used the proverbial shit stick of life to pole vault into vibrant, fulfilling, and meaningful next chapters. It’s about how we come back; from failure to betrayal, and move through tragedy and loss. Each episode will feature honest, inspiring conversations about resilience. Together, we’ll document the journey from surviving to thriving with a much-needed dose of humour. We HAVE to laugh along this journey.

New episodes drop every other Thursday in 2025.

Hosted on Acast.
