Well, we kicked off this week with the sentencing of a Coeur d’Alene man who poached a hell of a trophy elk in Northern Idaho, we followed that up with the story of the Canadian First Nation that is hellbent on blocking any non-indegenous hunters from accessing their territory. By mid week we covered the Maine man and his five accomplices who went on an absolute poaching and theft-crazy frenzy, we covered yet another assault by a fully-grown adult on kids fishing in his backyard in Florida and we rounded out the week with the story of Alaska outfitter Clint Miller, who is now up against a lawsuit from the state for defrauding clients of over $650,000.

Well, we kicked off this week with what looks like the culmination of one of the largest wildlife crime syndicates in Texas history, we followed that up with the case of a New York man who is accused of poaching over 30 deer, the tale of a douchey Arizona CEO who plundered 401K accounts to illegally fund lavish hunting excursions, we covered a new CWD study showing that deer are now contracting the deadly disease in the womb and we closed out the week with the indictment of Cody Roberts, the infamous Wyoming man accused of capturing, torturing and eventually killing a wolf in February of last year.

We’ve also got the story of the smurf-like colored pig meat that’s been discovered in California, the story of how a BC man survived 9 days in the backcountry by drinking pond water, how an Arizona outfitter was nailed for Lacey Act violations for illegal hunts in Colorado and we closed out the week with the tale of the father-son duo who now could be facing upwards of $60,000 worth of fines for illegally killing and wasting a trophy bull elk.

Well, we kicked off this week with the harrowing tale of a 69-year-old Wisconsin woman who is now thankfully in stable condition after suffering severe injuries in a bear attack. We followed that up with the details surrounding Utah’s new law requiring all users of specific Wildlife Management Areas over the age of 18 to obtain a valid hunting or fishing license and why it’s a good idea. Grizzly bear delisting was once again in the news this week after clearing the House Natural Resources Committee and another grizzly, north of the border, has been found dead after local residents attempted to break the law and relocate him themselves. Finally, we covered off the story of five Mississippi men who have been handed nearly $120,000 in fines for a multi-state poaching spree.

Well, it’s a funny time of year in the outdoor world and despite turkey season taking up pretty much everyone’s attention, we’ve had to dig a bit deeper to keep the stories coming. And not one to shy away from a challenge, we still managed to deliver amongst all of the foolishness that the beginning of the week brought on. This week we covered the unique story of an Alabama man that the law finally caught up to after he poached a deer back in the late nineties in Wyoming. That’s right, busted after 25 years on the run.

We also covered a peculiar 7-hour fishing season in Oregon that resulted in the seizure of over 2,500 lbs of illegally caught fish. And we’ve also got the stories of a New Hampshire corrections officer that has since been arrested for poaching multiple trophy bucks and another wolf-related state of emergency, this time in New Mexico.

Well, we kicked the week off with the news of a pair of Utah residents who have since been nailed for residency fraud for the illegal killing of a beauty mule deer in Nevada, we then covered the story of Alaska’s fight that would allow them to continue to cull bears and wolves to protect caribou, despite one bogus ruling that called the program “unconstitutional”.

By mid-week we were talking about the possibility of both an elk hunt in North Carolina and an eve more surprising potential bear hunt in Connecticut and we rounded out the week with the story of yet another hunter who is now facing felony charges after shooting a fellow hunter’s hunting dog after it trespassed on his mother’s property.

Well, we kicked the week off with the news of a crazy finding way up in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula involving some awfully cute future killers, went down to Texas and learned about the state representative and deer breeder that is introducing legislation that he hopes will abolish the state’s Parks and Wildlife Department and dismantle any regulations around deer breeding (protectionism anyone???).

By mid-week we were covering the story of the whiskey-shooting police officer that is now facing criminal charges after shooting a fellow hunter in the head, how non-resident Utah big game tags are about to jump in price (to the tune of an 100 percent increase and we rounded out the week with a story Colorado officials wish wouldn’t get out, involving one of their newly-reintroduced wolves being killed after destroying livestock in neighboring Wyoming.

His mysterious death in 1968 sent shockwaves through the sleepy South Florida community and was eventually ruled a suicide, despite what many believed to have been a hasty investigation.

I picked up a copy of Life and Death on the Loxahatchee by James D. Snyder to learn more about Trapper and his story. In this episode, I break down the key findings from the book and lay out the amazing story of the "Tarzan of the Loxahatchee," the late Vince "Trapper" Nelson.
