It's not a secret anymore, Fletch is a Bears fan, he's gone FULL BEARS. And he's fallen so bad that he's going to LA to see them. After fifteen minutes we've covered off Limp Bizkit and Elizabeth Berkley and the purchase of a Todd Gurley jersey....but then decide it's time to solve the Premier League VAR problem. We go live via the telephone to Rhys, after the first attempt to connect ended in a narrow escape for the producer. Yes, we nearly broadcast something illegal. Probably. Anyway, we avoided going live to some guy and his girlfriend in his Florida apartment and talk Browns, Patriots, Chiefs, Eagles, Vikings and Quarterbacks. Vernon took 24 minutes to park so arrives out of breath so we did have some heavy breathing after all.

Once again we find ourselves on opposite sides of the globe but still able to discuss the NFL this week and the New York Giants deciding for the first time since November 2004 that they want a different QB. There is anger, yes ANGER, at the decision to bench Eli Manning as Vernon delivers the immortal line: "you can't replace a shambles with a shambles".

Then it's New Orleans Saints, LA Chargers (still doesn't sound right) and of course Tom Brady up for discussion. We walked past Tom Brady once, the producer said 'congratulations' and Tom said 'thanks guys'. It was special. And we decide what we'd do with the Packers if Darren was GM. THE FUMBLE S1E7 NFL Trade Frenzy

The International Edition of the Fumble as Fletch and Vern are joined together from separate continents. Harrison Smith of the Vikings makes a cameo appearance which only thickens the plot of what may, or may not, have happened in San Francisco.

We play historical fantasy match-up and Reggie White and John Randle get a mention, as we talk Twickenham 2 and dream of the London Games next year, where Vernon surprises no one by wishing Tom Brady would come over again. Fletch just wants to meet Brett Favre.

We pick over the exciting trade deadline day and Jay Ajayi's big move, which we decide is actually a medium sized move. We make our mid season picks which backfires badly as a few hours after we finished recording Deshaun Watson went down for the rest of the season, which makes us very sad.

Darren and Vernon go backstage at theTailgate and bump into a Miami Dolphins legend, Cheerleader Holly and drag Neil Reynolds away from autograph hunters for a few words. The Patriots won't win the Super Bowl this season but the LA Rams are looking like the real deal.There is a mention for Shakin' Stevens and Cherry Doc Martens and producer Simon speculates that the best Super Bowl half-time shows are the ones when Fletch isn't there.
