This week we had the priviledge of interviewing Dr Samantha Dockray from the Applied Psychology department in UCC. Samantha has been involved with CLC for a few years in various capacities. This interview was surprising with Alex being really vocal and he really stepped up with his interview skills!

The questions we created for interviewing guests were a collaborative effort between the students, and you might notice that you will hear them across the interviews week-to-week as touchopoints for the students.

Hi and welcome to this weeks podcast. I came up with an idea to create a bunch of statements and give the students a green and red card to see if they agreed or disagreed with the statement. This was to designed to encourage students to interact and visually represent their responses to the group. It worked quite well and here you will hear some good discussions and banter between this group.

Here’s a new episode about AI, legacy, farming, food, living in America, Saltburn, and much more. It’s been great hearing the students getting better at conversing among themselves. Many of these students didn’t know each other at the beginning of the year and have got a lot better at holding conversations. There is some stereotyping of Americans in this episode and we apologise about that.

I will remind the listeners that many of these students have been deemed as 'unteachable' or struggled in standard education - I was very proud to hear them step out of their comfort zones so well, especially as this is a diverse group of teenagers. Thanks for listening!
