Birmingham City met Sheffield United at home in the EFL Championship on 14th March 2026. A winnable game (for both sides) that looked to have turned with a sending off and a Marvin Ducksh goal in the first half.

But it didn't quite pan out that way. We had Jack Robinson and the penalty, James Beadle on top form, Patrick Bamford trolling the Blues fans, and, well, more questions for Chris Davies and his team.

Birmingham City went to Charlton Athletic for Chris Davies' 100th game in charge. Sadly, it feels like it might have been a pivotal one. With Lyndon Dykes lining up against us, Blues made changes - Ryan Allsop in goal for a start - and at times looked threatening. But Nathan Jones in the opposite dugout did exactly what everyone expected Nathan Jones to do, and a sore 1-0 defeat followed.

The fickle life of a football fan laid bare, as The Blues responded in the best possible way to their mauling at Watford, by going toe to toe with EFL Championship leaders Coventry City at St Andrews (at, obviously, Knighthead Park.)

A feisty EFL Championship encounter between Blues and Derby at St Andrews ended in a 1-1 draw with both teams having had a player sent off. Ah, you can't beat Boxing Day football.

For Chris Davies this must feel likes points dropped. For John Eustace, he ended up with a yellow card on his return to BCFC.

In this latest episode, Simon Brew goes through a(nother) disappointing game for the home team, but one where Jack Robinson emerged as an unlikely hero. Is he the striker we've been missing? Well, in a day when Christoph Klarer didn't cover himself in glory, it does feel like things are a little out of kilter.

For the second time in a matter of days, Birmingham City recorded a 4-0 home victory. This time, BCFC were home to Millwall, who promised a much sterner test than Portsmouth at the weekend. Millwall, arriving at St Andrew's unbeaten away from home, and sitting in the play off places.

Also for the second time in a matter of days, Chris Davies picked a team that rose to the occasion. Paik Seung-Ho, Demarai Gray, Alex Cochrane and Jay Stansfield did the damage to the scoresheet, but there was a whole lot more to chat about too. Well, crikey. Birmingham City 4 Portsmouth 0. We've been searching high and low for this Blues team for months, and on a balmy day at St Andrews (at, obviously, Knighthead Park), everything seemed to click. A Jay Stansfield missed penalty could have been the bit where things went wrong, but instead, BCFC went on the rampage.

A week, as it turns out, is a long time in Birmingham City (or #BirminghamCity, to keep the hashtag police happy).

A week that started with optimism for #BCFC, and ended with a Carabao Cup defeat to #PortVale and then - live on Sky! - a 2-0 reverse against #LeicesterCity. That optimism is turning to chins being stroked and questions being asked. We got used to winning last season! Now, Chris Davies has - for the first time - lost two in a row. And with no goals scored.

The talking points? Well, apart from wondering what constitutes a red card tackle, this episode goes into the lack of goals, the expectations level, what's realistic, reality checks, should we really be panicking? And also, what have some fans got against Paik?
