Dead Lover is a deliciously dark horror-comedy, for fans of The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Death Becomes Her and Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein.

The film centers around a smelly gravedigger who craves love and, after she’s found it, refuses to let it go – even in death.

Directed and co-written by Grace Glowicki, the film stars Glowicki, Ben Petrie, Leah Doz and Lowen Morrow, each playing multiple parts.

A lonely gravedigger, who stinks of corpses, finally meets her dream man – but their romance is cut short when he tragically drowns at sea. Grief-stricken, the gravedigger goes to morbid lengths to resurrect him through madcap scientific experiments, resulting in grave consequences and unlikely love.

Set in 1987 and shot in monochrome, OBEX is a surreal lo-fi fantasy adventure with a cautionary tale about living life through a screen. The world premiere took place at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival where IndieWire called it “Eraserhead meets The Legend of Zelda.”

Conor Marsh lives a secluded life with his dog, Sandy, until one day he begins playing OBEX, a new, state-of-the-art computer game. When Sandy disappears, the line between reality and gaming blurs, and Conor must enter the world of OBEX to save her.

OBEX is a fantasy-adventure feature from the creative-mind of Albert Birney; writer and director of Strawberry Mansion (2021). Co-written by Pete Ohs (Erupcja), it stars Birney alongside Callie Hernandez (Jethica) and Frank Mosley (Rent Free).

The score was recorded by Josh Dibb, founding member of experimental rock band Animal Collective.

Based on the award-winning, bestselling book ‘At the Wolf’s Table’ by Rosella Postorino, The Tasters reconstructs the true story of the women coerced into being food tasters for Adolf Hitler towards the end of World War II.

In 2012, at the age of 95, a woman named Margot Wölk revealed that she had been one of the young German women forced to taste Hitler's meals at his hiding spot known as the 'Wolf's Lair'. Until then, no one had ever known about the existence of the food tasters and Margot Wölk was the only one among them to survive the end of the war. Her story inspired Rosella Postorino to write At the Wolf’s Table, which in turn inspired the script for The Tasters.

Directed by Silvio Soldini (Days and Clouds, Two Lives), The Tasters stars Elisa Schlott (Our Miracle Years, The Empress), Max Riemelt (Sense8, Two To One, Berlin Syndrome) and Alma Hasun (The Glory of Life, Corsage).

This sweet and uplifting Irish road movie from filmmaker Michael Head (Bermondsey Tales: Fall of the Roman Empire) packs in the laughs as it follows Dermot (Brenock O’Connor) and Elvis (Owen Colgan), two music lovers who run a struggling record shop in Omagh, Northern Ireland.

Facing an unpaid rent bill and their vicious landlord Sadie (Derry Girls’ Tara Lynne O’Neill), who’s eager to get them out of her building, the pair stumble across a deal too good to be true: rare, vintage records of blues legend Robert Johnson for sale in Cork at a knock-down price. If they can make it to the other end of Ireland in time, then maybe they could get the rare vinyl, and save the shop…

With just two days to get there the pair head off in a rusty Vauxhall as old as the hills. As they navigate their beautiful journey, they meet locals and make new friends along the way.

A fun and off-the-wall buddy movie, The Spin is based upon a semi-autobiographical short story by Omagh music star Mark McCausland (The Lost Brothers, The Basement, McKowski). McCausland also provides the film’s beautiful folk soundtrack.

Alongside O'Connor, Colgan and O'Neill, The Spin also stars Pussycat Dolls' Kimberley Wyatt as well as Maura Higgins (formerly Love Island & I'm A Celeb) who makes her feature length acting debut. The film also includes cameos from Irish music royalty, Barry Devlin (Horslips) and Steve Wickham (The Waterboys).

Sunrise Films and Vertigo Releasing are excited to announce their upcoming multi-territory release of Samuel Clemens’ debut feature The Drowned, starring Alan Calton (Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning), Lara Lemon (War Of The Worlds: The Attack) and Lily Catalifo (Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny), alongside Dominic Vulliamy (BBC One’s Rules Of The Game), Corrinne Wicks, Michelangelo Fortuzzi, and Sandrine Salyères.

Woven with references to Greek mythology, The Drowned follows three thieves who have just stolen a priceless painting and arrive at a secluded safe house by the sea, only to discover their fourth accomplice is missing. They must question whether one of them was responsible for her disappearance, or if the blame lies with a more sinister presence lurking in the deep water below.

The film, formerly known as The Waterhouse, premiered in London at FrightFest Halloween and will release via Sunrise Films on major digital platforms in North America on 7th October and in Australia and New Zealand on 8th October. Sister company Vertigo Releasing will release digitally on 6th October in the UK and Ireland.

Bad Man is the debut feature from director Michael Diliberti, which he also co-wrote with JJ Nelson.

The small town of Colt Lake, Tennessee has a big meth problem. When murder strikes, Deputy Sam Evans is assigned the case. A former local sports star, Evans has fallen from grace in the eyes of the community he still holds dearly. No one takes him seriously or thinks he can get the job done.

Then hot shot Bobby Gaines arrives. An undercover agent with the state's Special Narcotics Task Force. He is immediately welcomed like a hero. Evans is forced to work the case with the new top dog in town. But as they dig deeper, all may not be what it seems with this strange new savior.

Based on the book by Pulitzer Prize-winning author Jeff Leen, the film follows ‘Millie,’ a young single mother from a small town who defies societal norms by becoming a female pro-wrestler at a time when the sport was illegal across most of the United States.

Despite her success throughout the 40s and 50s, Millie's journey is marked by personal struggles, including raising her son on the road, the tragic death of her wrestling protégé in the ring and a tumultuous relationship with her manager and ex-husband, Billy Wolfe. 

Her story highlights triumphs such as being the first woman to headline over men, bringing women of colour into the sport, and participating in the first female "shoot match” i.e. real combat without a script for a title fight. Millie’s remarkable tale shattered the limitations of what a girl could become in entertainment and sports and is an unforgettable slice of post-war Americana.

 captures the golden age of female pro-wrestling when one gritty, glamorous woman risked everything in her life to change culture forever.

That it’s a Christopher guest directed movie starring Matthew Perry , a man on the rise at the time makes it even more weird that it past us by. A madcap, screwball, laugh riot and a whole bunch of other 90’s standard tags Comedy that will have you rolling in the aisle with laughter… apparently

In 1804, Leslie Edwards, a foppish aristocrat, and the loud, low-brow Bartholomew Hunt are competing against the renowned Lewis & Clark to be the first to chart and make it across the United States to the Pacific Ocean. In the beginning of the film, Edwards has high hopes to head the first expedition to make it across the United States, but while he has ambition and funding, he has grown up sheltered and knows little of the wilderness he seeks to cross. To aid in his journey, he hires the services of a supposedly knowledgeable wilderness-man and tracker, Hunt, who, once they get underway, turns out to be less than advertised.

They are aided by a crew of varied, rugged and grizzled frontiersmen, including the group's version of Sacagawea, a young Indian woman by the name Shaquinna, who is integral in helping them find their way across the dangerous and unknown terrain ahead, as well as eventually becoming Edwards' love interest. Along the way, the group goes through various mishaps and ordeals such as having to deal with quirky, indigenous Indian tribes and vicious animals, a Conquistador named Hidalgo, as well as running out of food and romantic snafus, as Hunt's ineptness often causes more problems than it solves. Along the way, Edwards and Hunt's shared journey helps Edwards shed his aristocratic, snooty ways and he learns camaraderie and honor, as well as a more humble view of a world he thought he understood. Hunt finds true friendship in Edwards and a sense of self-confidence he had not known before.

After many hardships and setbacks, they eventually make it to the Pacific coast just minutes before Lewis and Clark's expedition; however, once the celebration is over, they find that they do not necessarily want to go back to their old lives and collectively decide to continue their adventure, leading Edwards and Hunt's expedition to further explore the great uncharted world. A light-hearted ensemble comedy about friendship, community, love and capitalism, Natja Brunckhorst’s Two To One is set in the long, hot East German summer of 1990.

Maren (Sandra Hüller), Robert (Max Riemelt) and Volker (Ronald Zehrfeld) have known and loved each other since childhood. In the final weeks before reunification and with Germany about to change forever, the trio stumble across a fortune in soon-to-be-worthless East German currency, left to rot in Government storage.

With just days to work out what to do with this unexpected windfall before it becomes useless, the three assemble the friends and neighbours living in their crumbling apartment block and together hatch an elaborate plan to exchange the cash for goods – outwitting the incoming Westerners and their capitalism before time runs out.

But can a community previously living under strict socialist values handle this sudden wealth…?

Two To One features stand-out performances from Oscar nominee Sandra Hüller (Anatomy of a Fall, The Zone of Interest, Toni Erdmann), Max Riemelt (Berlin Syndrome, Sense8,) and Ronald Zehrfeld (Phoenix, Barbara).

After its Crucible Theatre World Premiere at the prestigious Sheffield DocFest in June, hosted by renowned filmmaker and DJ Don Letts, the film received a standing ovation from the crowd. Harder Than The Rock will now be released in UK cinemas this October, in line with Black History Month.

Harder Than The Rock chronicles the incredible journey of Britain's first reggae band, Cimarons. Formed by teenage Jamaican immigrants in a London bus shelter in 1967, the band were at the forefront of the reggae explosion in the 1970s. Thousands of miles from Jamaica, they brought excitement, experimentation, and sheer anticipation to Black British youth, connecting them to their roots and identity through their powerful music.

Cimarons collaborated with industry legends such as Bob Marley, Toots & the Maytals, Jimmy Cliff, Lee 'Scratch' Perry, and even Paul McCartney. Despite their significant contributions, the band has been largely under-recognised for their music, impact, and legacy. The film poignantly captures their history and follows their final chapter, when, despite losing their beloved drummer Maurice Ellis to cancer, they dream of performing to live audiences - one last time.

From North East-based production companies Margot Films and J6 Films, Harder Than The Rock will be released in UK Cinemas with support from BFI Doc Society and NE Screen.

BROKEN BIRD marks the feature directorial debut of actress Joanne Mitchell, who for 30 years has honed her craft as a horror storyteller.  BROKEN BIRD is a feature film adaptation of her & Tracey Sheals's 2018 award-winning short SYBIL, written with the help of Dominic Brunt (Wolf Manor).

This rich, disturbing tale steps into the life and mind of Sybil Carmichael. Sybil is quiet, creative soul. Her hobbies are taxidermy and poetry. She works in a funeral parlor with the deceased. She likes dead people. They understand her.

At just ten years old, she experienced a massive trauma in a tragic accident which took away the family she adored. Now, an aching loneliness prevails in a void which she seeks to fill. She has her hobbies, which is nice... But poetry and a vivid imagination only provide a temporary escape from the harsh realities of a lonely life.

Reality and reason are slipping away from Sybil and her ‘dark desires’ become more and more insatiable. Her fascination with the dead takes a dark and strange twist. And in a horrific climax of gothic proportions, she finds her own kind of happiness and contentment with the people she keeps as company - the dead people.

Sybil is masterfully portrayed by Rebecca Calder (Kandahar/Memory) in a riveting nuanced performance in which she captures all of Sybil’s quirky, unsettling behavior. She is supported by an incredible cast featuring James Fleet (Four Weddings & a Funeral), Sacharissa Claxton (Avenue 5) and Jay Taylor (Misfits).

It’s all explained in the video why I made this. What isn’t in there is how bloody awkward it was to make the thing, as I’ve gotten rid of all my usual video making equipment. Did alright in the end though… Once I re-recorded the entire thing as the sound didn’t get captured for some reason.

It's hard to do a Mystery movie when you doing a podcast though and need to list credits, but I doubt anyone gets this far into the notes anyway. We watched "Backyard Dogs" it's not really a film, more a moment of magic capture on Film... Hi8 video tape by Robert Boris, a man who once directed Rob Lowe and Alley Sheedy in sports comedy classic "Oxford Blues" and Nick Nolte as a Dirty Hippie. It stars people straight outta the 90's and a Power Ranger, with music by people who hate music.
