Preserving Cultural Heritage with Brittany Kaiser, Chateaushi - BTC Vegas 2025

As a human rights lawyer, Brittany Kaiser used to tip other activists and journalists in bitcoin over email for their harrowing work. While at SCL Group, she could not stand idle in the face of one of the most wild data scandals in recent memory, one which led to the overthrows of governments and invasive practices against basically all humanity. She’s led the first blockchain DAO bill creation in Wyoming and is a champion of persona data for all.

While this conversation touches on several of these topics, none of them were the main motivation of this chat. So despite diving deep into the value of data and Kaiser’s convictions around web3, here on the floor at Bitcoin 2025 in Las Vegas, we explored the world of cultural heritage and how we can find ways to maintain it using blockchain. From crumbling French chateaus to municipal monuments across the USA, Kaiser believes blockchain can unlock sustainable revenue streams to preserve our heritage for generations to come.

As someone with a person history briefly working for the National Park Services, I think this is an amazing endeavor. And if you’re a lil nerd like me and have been a big player of the Civilization gaming series, I can’t help but think of how fun it is in the late-game to uncover all the antiquity sites. Like some sort of digital Indiana Jones - or Carmen San Diego - these sites bring value to your Civilization. The same goes for real-life. Confucious said: Study the past in order to define the future. I tend to agree. But don’t come at me, I haven’t played Civ VII yet.

Who is Joe Sticco:

Joe Sticco is a Co-Founder at Cryptex and also a trader and investment manager. He brings a background in traditional markets, combining Wall Street experience with early blockchain exposure. He came into the blockchain industry in 2016 through Bitcoin. After witnessing the 2017 ICO boom and rug pulls that ensued, which led to investor's losses, Joe and colleagues began researching how to provide a more secure and stable exposure to the cryptocurrency market for investors.

What is Cryptex Finance:

Cryptex Finance offers investors exposure to the total cryptocurrency market cap through its derivative asset, TCAP. Akin to the S&P500 for tech stocks, TCAP captures the value of all the sectors of the cryptocurrency market in one asset. The protocol also serves as a gateway for TradFi into DeFi.
