Aine Gillespie headed to her local beach outside Donegal Town to go hunting for rubbish with Lorraine from Trashy Treasure who collects rubbish on Donegal's beaches and transforms it into jewellery.

Everything from plastic waste, ghost nets, fishing rope, seaweed shells, sand are all put to use to make coasters, jewellery, necklaces and bracelets.

Lorraine combines natural products and man-made and has said that unfortunately there are a lot of plastics from bottle tops to lighters which she uses for her trashy treasure products.

Lorraine explains how ghost nets are a problem, accounting for 40-50% of the pollution in our oceans.

We will be discussing topics such as the climate impact of Energy, Travel, Food, Waste, the Circular Economy and Biodiversity, to name a few. Joining for Aine for the panel discussion on the topic of ‘Food In Our Lives was Kate Egan.

Kate has over 12 years of experience in environmental education working on a huge variety of projects across Ireland. As an environmental educator and education consultant, Kate brings a lot of creativity, practical skill, theoretical background and an innovative approach to her work. Having worked with National Parks and Wildlife Service, Irish wildlife Trust, Leave No Trace Ireland, Presentation Ireland, P.U.R.E project, Burren Beo and many more. Most Recently, Kate has worked as a mentor for Farming For Nature through the "From the Horses Mouth" Programme and is also working with TUS Athlone on a food sustainability project with their tourism and culinary department and the development of a Democratic School in the Midlands. She is now forging her own unique land based creative project combining sustainability, eco-tourism and nature connection at An Ghrian Glas Farm.

Aine was also joined by Lynda Mcfarland Lynda is the co-owner of Lowe & Co Eco Grocers & Smallholding. Lynda grows her own organic, (pesticide free) vegetables and also ows her own bee hives. As a Business owner, Lynda will be talking about the challenges which businesses face in being environmentally friendly when it comes to food sustainability Lynda also has a background in nutrition and also hosts workshops on how to grow your own vegetables.

10 TY students spent one week learning everything there is to know about radio. They worked with Dave Duke to understand researching stories for radio, Niall King spoke to the class about making Adverts and Fionnuala Corbert taught the class on the news.

The class then had their own show on iRadio.
