Skógafoss delivers mixed news as Nonni searches for his parents. We learn how this small group came to be, and how it came to be so small. Óli and Bryce work to make contact with Hunter in Vík only to learn that the airport situation is not going to be as easy as it seems. And Abigail confesses that she feels scared and choiceless about her existence.

[DÍ 17] River of Doubt

A gift from someone who wants to help but can't, Emily leaves the family with a rifle to help them with their mission before setting sail to home. Getting on with a difficult crossing, Óli finds himself submerged in freezing cold water to rescue a nervous Nonni during a river crossing. Moving on quickly to a potential rest point before hypothermia sets in, and to hopefully see if Nonni's parents are still alive.

[DÍ 16] A Little Paranoia before Bed

Their new friend, Emily Guðni Viðarsdóttir, embodies þetta reddast as she allows the group into the Welcome Centre, sharing with them food, water, shelter and fuel for their quads. However, a potential threat from Seljalandsfoss sees the family and their host headed to the ferry terminal at Landeyjarhöfn where Emily has a raft ready to attempt a crossing to the Westman Islands.

The first heavy fog of winter rolls in, making it difficult to see the roads ahead of them. Heading to the river, they try to think of how to cross that avoids the obviously guarded bridge, when Abigail is taken at knife point, making their silent running moot. A bargain is made with the shady bandits of Hella Caves, which sees the hostile humans in possession of their black box.

An early morning run into Selfoss sees the four cousins breaking into a pharmacy in order to get medication for Helgi to give to Anna. Parting ways, the younger cousins go deeper into Selfoss, to find evidence of fasting moving hostiles, and not all of them appear to be the undead. Further evidenced as they approach Bryce’s apartment to see that someone, not something, has made it their home.
