With more and more of us spending our days staring down a webcam on our laptops or on our phones, a great divide is coming into view: those who understand how to look their best on a video call and those who do not. Although this may seem a trivial matter, given that we make lasting impressions within the first seven seconds of a meeting, it's essential that we bring our best selves to virtual interactions. From the lighting you choose to the position of the camera, learn industry tips from veteran photographer Asa Mathat. You will see an immediate difference in the quality of your webcam video--and so will your colleagues, clients, family and friends. Give his DIY techniques a try, and send your before and after photos to info@whatmannersmost.com to be featured in our social media.

Please follow Thomas on Instagram and Twitter @MisterManners.

Thanks, as always, to producer Martin Burgess.
