This week I welcome psychologist, Dr. Rebecca Bevans. Dr. Bevans holds a Ph.d in Cognitive Neuroscience, and a Masters degree in Human Development. She is an expert in how physiological states can affect psychological perception.

On today’s episode we talk about her 2016 TedTalk, The Effects Of Artificial Food Dyes. In her TedTalk Dr. Bevans shares the personal story about her son, Alex, and how artificial food dyes effected his behavior. The types of behavior issues included not just anger but aggressive meltdowns ( some times they were violent), and by the age of seven things had become so bad Alex was suicidal.

After removing foods containing certain artificial dyes Alex’s behavior saw dramatic improvement. Dr. Bevans shares how it happened. Tune in, like and share.
