In this episode, we delve in to the 27 years of Steven Bradbury's life before the famed moment - the dedication, sacrifice and near death experiences that will ultimately change your perception of the man. His luck didn't just come in the minutes of the 2002 Olympic Speed Skating Final - it was created through years and years (and years) of gruelling passion towards a sport that he put on the Australian map.

91 Days In The Abyss - The Douglas Mawson Yarn

You may have been through Mawson, the suburb of Canberra, gazed upon Mount Mawson in TAS or maybe even driven down Douglas Mawson Drive in Dubbo NSW (to name a few). But what you may not know is the incredible yarn of Sir Douglas Mawson and his expedition to Antarctica in 1912-13, and why he has his name honoured in so much Australian culture.

Pre WW1, Mawson and a small crew set out on an expedition across the treacherous icy wasteland of Antarctica for a scientific research mission. After a relatively pleasant start the trip quickly took a turn in what would become one of the most hectic stories of mental fortitude and survival you'll ever hear, despite all the luck falling against the odds of making it out of the unexplored land alive. In 2006, Ricky was found in "one of the most isolated parts of Australia" - the Birrindudu Cattle Station (500km southwest of Katherine) sheltering under a water trough, with the appearance of a skeleton. After receiving treatment at the Royal Darwin Hospital, Ricky's recount of how he ended up is a yarn that put's Tom Hanks' 'Castaway' to shame, but due to his colourful past, one question remains - do you believe him?

The Smoke Break That Saved Todd's Life
